Round Rock
Good Lord. The Express drop their ninth out of their last ten games in a big way. How big a way? 23-5 big at Omaha. Amazingly, the Express actually led this game 2-0, and then Omaha scored the next 14 runs, including an 11-run 3rd inning. Round Rock
Position Player: Jason Bourgeois. This could have been between a few players (Johnson, Bogusevic, Castro, etc), but how do you not give it to a guy who hit .387/.421/.571 over 29 games in May? He only struck out 12 times in 119 ABs, and hit 13 extra-base hits.
Pitcher: Casey Daigle. Daigle pitched in 15.2IP (14 games) in May, allowing 3ER with 13K:3BB, posting a 1.72 ERA/1.15 WHIP.
Corpus
Position Player: Jack Shuck. Shuck hit .317/.388/.423, with 15K:12BB in 28 games for the Hooks in May.

Lancaster
Position Player: Mark Ori. Ori followed up an April in which he hit .275/.375/.319 by hitting .352/.364/.438 and 20RBI.

It's almost like a captip from God that Jordan Lyles seems to pitch on nights that Bud Norris pitches. Jack Shuck and German Duran were 2x4 and Koby Clemens was 1x4 with a homer and three strikeouts.

A lot riding on Clemens at 1B
Zach Levine - the hardest working man for the Chronicle - has a profile on Koby Clemens, who has officially moved to first base.
Koby:
“It's definitely going to be a big year for me to see how I do at that level where a lot of big-time prospect players are. If I have a good year, anything can happen. But I'm not going to put any more pressure than I need to.”
Let's take a look at minor-league first basemen from 2009:
Round Rock
Mark Saccomanno (110 games): 137x493, .278/.329/.436, 87K:34BB, 43XBH-67RBI
Corpus Christi
Mark Ori (97 games): 111x423, .262/.334/.336, 88K:41BB, 29XBH-45RBI
Jimmy Van Ostrand (48 games): 104x367, .283/.364/.469, 67K:43BB, 35XBH-71RBI
Lancaster
Koby Clemens: 146x423, .345/.419/.636, 109K:51BB, 73XBH-121RBI

Round Rock
New Orleans whooped the dog crap out of the Express 7-1 in NO yesterday. Freshly activated Mark McLemore gave up 6ER in 3IP, while a bullpen of Gervacio, Capellan, and Lumsden held it down to the tune of 1ER in 5IP. Yordany and Saccomanno combined for four of the Express' seven hits.
Corpus Christi
Felix Molina hit a 3-run homer in the 1st as the Hooks took a 1st inning 6-0 lead and defeated Springfield 9-4 last night. Jon Fixler, Collin DeLome and Molina had 3RBI each while Mark Ori went 3x5. Douglass Arguello allowed 2ER in 5IP for the win.
Lancaster
The JetHawks scored the three runs in the 8th/9th to defeat Modesto 4-3 in Lancaster last night. Erick Abreu got the win while Jack Tilghman threw 5IP with 3H/2ER, 6K:0BB. Koby Clemens had a 2-run single, while Jon Gaston hit an RBI double and new signee Gabe Suarez was 2x4.
Lexington
Ross Seaton threw a complete game shutout, striking out six and allowing just three hits as the Legends won 5-0. Brian Pellegrini hit a 3-run shot in the first and Ebert Rosario was 2x4, kind of making up for committing his 20th error of the season.

And the news just keeps getting better for the Hooks
One game is one game. But to enjoy a 4-0 lead, and then to lose 24-6...that could take some time for confidence (not to mention ERAs) to recover.
Here's your pitching line for last night's Corpus/Midland game:
James: 2.1IP, 8H/9ER, 0K:3BB
Lopez: 2IP, 10H/7ER, 1K:0BB
Semerano: 3.2IP, 10H/8ER,0K:3BB
Midland was 14x26 with RISP, and STILL left nine men on base.
That said: Drew Meyer was 3x4, Drew Locke 2x5, and Mark Ori 4x5.

Young'un of the Day: May 5
Round Rock
It feels like we do this every day. Yordany Ramirez is your YotD for Round Rock after going 4x5 with a double, a homer, 2RBI in an 8-5 win over New Orleans. Bogusevic came in a close second - 2x4, 3RBI and three runs scored
Corpus Christi
Mark Ori, come on down. 3x4 with 3RBI, 3RS. The Hooks defeated Midland 10-3 in a game where Hooks' batters walked eight times to four strikeouts. Casey Hudspeth threw 7IP, 7H/2ER, 4K:2BB.
Lexington
Robert Bono threw 6IP, 6H/1ER, 5K:2BB in a 4-3 win over Augusta (the Green Jackets. That's cool.), lowering his ERA to 1.61. Bad news, frequent YotD'er Albert Cartwright will be out for "several weeks" with a broken forearm after getting hit by a pitch Sunday. Cartwright was hitting .316 with 3HR.
Lancaster
Jack Shuck went 3x4 with a triple and a walk in a 10-4 loss to Lake Elsinore.
