Dah! I hate it when Oklahoma City beats Round Rock, because then The Oklahoman tickles themselves with feathers and cackles with glee. Round Rock loses 4-2. Josh Banks threw 7IP, 5H/3ER, 5K:0BB, 2HR, WP, and Sergio Perez allowed 2H/1ER, 0K:1BB in 2IP. Drew Locke was 2x3 with a walk and his 17th homer of the year. Oswaldo Navarro and Collin DeLome had a double each.

Corpus

That's more like it. Corpus rolls all over Arkansas, 10-2. Erick Abreu threw 7IP, 6H/0ER, 5K:1BB; Arcenio Leon allowed a hit, 2K:3BB, and 2ER in 1IP, and Jailen Peguero allowed a hit in 1IP. David Cook carried the big bat, with a 4x5 day that included two solo homers. Mike Affronti was 3x5 with 4RBI, and Albert Cartwright and Freddy Parejo had two hits each. J.D. Martinez was 1x4 with a walk, and Koby Clemens was 0x3 with 2BB. Jon Gaston hit his 11th homer of the year.

Lancaster jumped on High Desert early for a 13-7 win. Pat Urckfitz threw 5IP, 8H/2ER, 6K:1BB; Kyle Godfrey walked two, threw one wild pitch, and allowed two unearned runs; Brian Wabick threw two scoreless innings, and David Berner gave up 4H/3ER, 2K:1BB in 1IP.
Brandon Barnes was 3x6 with a double and 2HR (his 26th and 27th), driving in four runs, and getting an outfield assist. Jose Altuve was 3x5 with an RBI; Bryce Lane was 2x4 with a double, homer, and 3RBI. Jay Austin was 2x3 with a triple.

Lexington

Though it was close for most of the game, Lexington never trailed, beating Augusta 8-2. Tanner Bushue allowed 3H/0ER, 4K:2BB in 6IP; Brad Dydalewicz allowed 4H/1R (0ER) in 2IP, and Dan Sarisky allowed 2H/1ER, 1K:1BB in 1IP. Our Boy Aaron Bray was 2x5 with a double and 3RBI, Jiovanni Mier was 2x3 with 2BB and an RBI, Jonathan Meyer was 2x4 with a walk and an RBI, and Renzo Tello was 2x4.

The Gastros rode a 4-run 3rd inning for a 5-2 win over Princeton. Ruben Alaniz allowed 4H/1ER, 5K:0BB; Paul Gerrish allowed three hits and an unearned run 0.1IP; Ryan Cole struck out five in 2.2IP, and Brian Streilein allowed a hit in 1IP. Telvin Nash was 1x4 with a two-run double, Roberto Pena added an RBI, and Delino DeShields was 1x4 with a double and 3Ks.

Eddie's Farm: June 5

Round Rock

Nashville jumped out to an 8-2 lead - thanks to a 5-run 6th, and held off a late charge for a 9-6 win over Round Rock. Polin Trinidad threw 5.1IP, 11H/8R (7ER), 5K:0BB for the loss. Gary Majewski gave up a run in 1.2IP, and Evan Englebrook and Erick Abreu threw the last two scoreless innings. Chris Johnson was 3x5 (RBI), Jason Castro was 2x4 (RBI), and Drew Locke hit a three-run homer in the 8th for the Express' only extra-base hit.

A four-run first inning by NW Arkansas pretty much took care of the game, and the Hooks lost 8-3. Jeremy Johnson threw 6IP, 8H/5R (4ER), 3K:2BB, while Erik Stiller gave up a two-run homer in the 7th. Jailen Peguero made his Corpus re-debut, throwing a perfect 8th inning, while T.J. Burton allowed a run on a hit and a walk in the 9th. David Cook was 2x4 with a solo homer, while Jon Gaston hit his third homer of the season - a two-run shot.

Look at that! Tied up 2-2 going into the 10th inning, Freddy Parejo and David Flores had two-out RBIs for a 4-2 win over Rancho Cucamonga. Kyle Greenwalt threw 7IP, 6H/2ER, 3K:0BB, while Mike Modica got the win, throwing two perfect innings, with David Berner getting his 7th save of the season. Jay Austin and Brandon Wikoff had two hits each.

And Lexington keeps Eddie's Farm at .500 for the night with a 7-5 win over Hickory. Luis Cruz threw 5IP, 3H/2ER, 1K:1BB while Arcenio Leon made it interesting, giving up 3ER in the 6th. Jose Trinidad threw two perfect IP (striking out three), and Kirk Clark got his 11th save of the season. The Legends got 16 hits on the night, including four from Rene Garcia (4RBI), three from Our Boy Aaron Bray (2RBI), two each from J.D. Martinez, Jonathan Meyer, and Grant Hogue. Kody Hinze was 1x2, but drew three walks.

Round Rock

Back-and-forth game between Round Rock and Reno, and ultimately it's Round Rock who comes out on top 5-4 on Bourgeois' walk-off triple. Weirdness on the pitching side, as Tim Byrdak threw the first inning (So he could join the team in Milwaukee?) and then turned it over to Andy Van Hekken, who threw 7IP, 7H/3R (2ER), 5K:0BB in relief, technically. Yorman Bazardo got the win, throwing 1IP, 1H/0ER. Jason Bourgeois was 2x5, and Matt Kata was 2x4 with 3RBI. Chris Johnson was 1x4 with a double and two runs scored. Bourgeois came up with Collin DeLome on first with one out, and hit a triple to center, scoring DeLome, and winning the game.

Corpus pulled a Houston yesterday, scoring four runs in the 1st inning, and losing anyway, 8-5. Jordan Lyles got lit up, giving up 9H/6ER, 5K:1BB in 6IP, while Henry Villar allowed 2ER in 3IP. Wladimir Sutil, T.J. Steele, and David Cook (3RBI) had two hits each - which were all the hits the Hooks got. The Hooks did draw nine walks on the day, but were 1x9 w/RISP.

Despite out-hitting High Desert 12-8, the JetHawks lost 7-3. Brad Dydalewicz threw 4.1IP, 6H/7R (5ER), 2K:4BB. Mike Schurz (2.2IP), Pat Urckfitz (1IP), and Kyle Godfrey (1IP) combined for 4.2IP, 2H/0ER, 5K:2BB. Albert Cartwright, Mark Ori, Federico Hernandez, and Brandon Wikoff had two hits each with Ori, Barnes, and Hernandez getting doubles, and Cartwright hitting his 4th homer of the season.

Lexington put the whomp on Greensboro, 6-0, as the Legends got thirteen hits, held Greensboro to six, and let Greensboro make four errors. Robby Donovan improved to 4-3, holding Greensboro to 6H/0ER, 4K:2BB in 7IP. Arcenio Leon threw two scoreless innings, striking out three. Miguel Arrendell was 3x5, while J.D. Martinez, Our Boy Aaron Bray, Rene Garcia, and Grant Hogue had two hits each. RBIs came from Arrendell, Mier, Martinez, Bray, Kemp, and Hogue in a total team performance.

Round Rock

The Express snapped Nashville's seven-game win streak with an 8-3 win and a big night by Brian Bogusevic. Wesley Wright threw 6IP, 7H/3ER, 2K:3BB (ERA: 3.20), but Wilton Lopez got the win in relief. Lopez, Majewski, and Daigle held the Sounds to 2H/0ER, 2K:1BB in 3IP. Wright got 14 groundball outs, compared to 2 flyball outs, and the Express pitching staff held the Sounds to 0x11 w/RISP. Brian Bogusevic was 3x3 with a walk, homer, and 4RBI, while Chris Shelton also added three hits. Edwin Maysonet was 2x4 with 2RBI for your other multi-hit game. Jason Castro was 1x3 with a walk and a run to up his average to .234.

Corpus Christi

The Hooks were held to five hits by the Martin Perez and the RoughRiders in a 6-1 loss to Frisco. Three of Frisco's runs were unearned as throwing errors by Garciaparra and Esposito led to two unearned runs for Jeremy Johnson and one for Jared Wells. Johnson threw 3IP, 3H/0ER (2R), 3K:0BB, exiting after 48 pitches. Erick Abreu threw 4IP, 5H/3ER, 4K:0BB, allowing three homers in relief. David Cook was 2x4 with a double, and German Duran provided the only RBI on the night. Jon Gaston was 1x3, BB to raise his average to .208.

Freshly activated Jose Cisnero got the start, but also a tough loss, as Kannapolis beats Lexington, 3-2. Cisnero threw 5.2IP, 8H/3ER, 7K:2BB (2HR, 3WP, and a balk) for the loss, and Arcenio Leon threw 3.1IP, 0H/0ER, 6K:0BB in relief. Jose Altuve and Jonathan Meyer had two hits each, while J.D. Martinez and Kody Hinze provided the RBI.

Ginter has spent parts of seven seasons in the Majors, most recently in 2008 with Cleveland, when he went 1-3 in four starts with a 5.14 ERA / 1.33 WHIP. His most productive year was in 2002 with the White Sox, when he pitched in 33 games - finishing 15 - with a 4.47 ERA. In 2004 with the Mets, he made 14 starts, going 1-3 with a 4.54 ERA / 1.47 WHIP.

Ginter spent 2009 in the Brewers organization as a reliever (though he started three games), going 3-3 with a 3.81 ERA / 1.44 WHIP, with 52K:24BB.

30-year old LHP Jon Switzer, from Clear Lake, was a 2nd-round pick by the Devil Rays in 2001. He played for the Devil Rays (minus 2004 when he was injured) until the 2008 season, when he was with Pawtucket in the Boston organization. In 2009, the Mets signed him to a minor-league deal, where he joined the Big Team for four games, and 3.1IP. In 213 minor-league geames, Switzer has posted a 3.63 ERA / 1.29 WHIP, with 466K:150BB.

28-year old OF David Cook has spent all of his seven seasons with the Chicago White Sox. In 754 games, Cook has hit .260/.373/.474, with 285 XBH-399RBI, and 650K:448BB. He also has a .971 career Fld%, with 31 errors and 32 outfield assists.
