Friday Morning Hot Links

*Charlie Morton threw 17 of his 24 pitches for strikes in a clean 2IP outing yesterday. Tony Sipp threw a 1-2-3 inning as the Astros beat the Red Sox 10-5. Collin McHugh allowed 4H/3ER, 1K:0BB in 1.2IP

Kyle Tucker hit his third home run of the Spring while Jake Marisnick, J.D. Davis and Tyler White each hit a double, and Derek Fisher bagged a triple.

*Dallas Keuchel is constantly studying and learning from other pitchers.

*Jon Heyman reports that Forrest Whitley tested positive for a stimulant:
The fact that MLB didn't announce what drug was found in Whitley's sample suggests there were complications or an extenuating circumstance, and perhaps even a negotiation regarding how things would be resolved, possibly including what would be revealed in the announcement. In this case, none was revealed.

*FiveThirtyEight x-rayed some baseballs. What they found will SHOCK you.

*Jon Heyman must be getting a commission on Jonathan Lucroy's next contract because he's out here linking Lucroy to the Astros again.

*The Athletic (Philly) has a sabermetric primer for you. (Unlocked from paywall).

*Want to see some baseball at Minute Maid Park? Go to the College Classic, today through Sunday.

*From the Hardball Times: Meet me in Waxahachie - forgotten Spring Training cities from back in the day.
