Monday Morning Hot Links

*Random 2017 Astros fact:

The Astros were 7-27 (.206) when scoring 0-2 runs. The rest of the American League was a combined 68-573 (.106) when scoring 0-2 runs in a game.

*The GM Meetings start today in Orlando.

*Spring Training tickets go on sale today. The Astros' first game is February 23, 102 days and a lot of winter from today

*Craig Bjornson, the Astros' bullpen coach since 2014, was apparently not going to return to the team in 2018 and has been hired in the same role for Alex Cora and the Red Sox. Bullpen catcher Carlos Munoz will not return, either. So that's a bullpen coach, bullpen catcher, and an assistant hitting coach that Hinch needs to replace.

*Mike Petriello breaks down this offseason's free agent class based on Statcast metrics.

*Hey Erik Kratz is a free agent...

*Beaumont native Jay Bruce would like to play for the Rangers or Astros, but would also like to play for a contender, so I guess that leaves...

It still seems so surreal to me that My Beloved Astros won the freakin' World Series. I always thought that life wouldn't be any different after doing so, but it is. So much sweeter..

Astros have already hired their replacements. Per Astros.com "The Astros announced three additions to their Major League coaching staff on Monday. They named Jeff Albert second hitting coach, Alex Cintron first-base coach and Doug White bullpen coach."
