Handsome Dan Straily threw 5IP, 5H/3ER, 6K:3BB and then manager Tony DeFrancesco used four relievers over the last four innings to close out the game. Corpus (2-0)

The Hooks offense wanted to make sure that Mark Appel was under as little pressure as possible, so they gave him a 5-0 lead before he even took the mound, and beat Springfield 8-2. Appel had a strong start, going 5IP and allowing just 2H/1ER, 4K:1BB, and Kyle Westwood closed it out with 4IP, 4H/1ER, 1K:0BB.

First organizational loss of the season what is Jeff Luhnow even doing? San Jose got a 4-run 3rd inning to shut out Lancaster 5-0. Michael Feliz lasted just 2.2IP, allowing 8H/4ER, but with 4K:0BB. Chris Cotton threw 2.1IP of 1H/0ER, 4K:0BB relief, and Zach Morton threw 4IP, 2H/1ER, 3K:2BB to close it out.

The JetHawks managed just five hits, but Chase McDonald had two of them, with Danry Vasquez (2B, 2BB, SB), Ronnie Mitchell (BB), and Chan Moon providing those three hits. Both J.D. Davis and A.J. Reed are still looking for their first hits after two games.
