Friday Morning Hot Links

Here are a few things with which you can destroy a Friday morning at work...

*HEY! Here's a plan that would turn CSN Houston into Root Sports Houston, co-owned by AT&T and DirecTV. The Astros and Rockets would be out as co-owners of the network, with AT&T owning 40% and DirecTV owning 60% of the network, but at least people would be able to see the Astros and Rockets. Of course, Comcast can object to the plan and drag this out until the earth crashes into the sun, but at least fans - however many are left - could begin actively watching Astros games in 2015.

*Jerome Solomon reacts to the potential deal.

*Interesting quote from Scott Feldman, in regards to Brett Oberholtzer (but maybe it's about so much more!):
He wasn't a real high pick so he's always had to outwork and outhustle everybody and just be a survivor. He's been doing a great job of that. I like that because I was the same way...you don't get the free promotions to Double-A and Triple-A, you've got to earn everything. He's earning his way and he's doing a good job.

(Ed. Note: OOOOOHHHHH)

*Jake Marisnick is feeling more comfortable with the Astros.

*Dexter Fowler will begin a rehab assignment with OKC today, and George Springer could be activated from the DL.

Well, if they feel that way, Luhnow should trade them both for an outfielder and an under-achieving high draft pick.

A hint at who the Anonymous sources were for JJO's article on Appel's workout out in Houston?

I was trying to make a line up for when Springer, Fowler and co return from the DL. I kind of struggled because Carter is on fire and I like Castro in the 2, but you need Altuve and Fowler in the 1,2...thoughts on what y'all expect or would like to see?

1) Altuve
2) Fowler
3) Grossman
4) Carter
5) Springer
6) Singleton
7) Castro
8) Dominguez
9) Shortstop de jour

Actually, I might swap Shortstop de Jour and Dominguez. If Castro and the shortstop get on, Dominguez has the ability for the long ball...

Oh yeah! Interesting hmmm

Uh, Grossman batting 3rd? Robbie Grossman? When/if Fowler and Springer both come back, Grossman might not even be starting, since they seem to want to give Marisnick an opportunity.

Grossman has been getting on base at a fairly decent clip lately. So yes. Grossman. Robbie Grossman. If you don't agree, you can make your own hypothetical. That's the point of this, no?

The Earth will never crash into the Sun FWIW.

Fair enough, Anon. Grossman has been getting on base. I guess we just disagree about what approximates a #3 hitter (Altuve may be the best choice, but I doubt Porter will put him there once Springer is back). I'm thinking:

Fowler
Altuve
Springer
Carter
Singleton
Castro
Dominguez
Marisnick
Gonzalez

with Grossman either getting everyday starts in OKC or a couple per week in HOU to rest the regular OFs.
