Playoff Picture

OKC, Corpus, Lancaster, Quad Cities all clinched playoff berths

Oklahoma City (79-60)

Nashville never trailed in what would be a 6-1 win over OKC at Bricktown.  Asher Wojciechowski threw 4.2IP, 6H/3ER, 4K:2BB; Hector Ambriz allowed 2H/1ER in 1.1IP; Wade LeBlanc allowed 3H/2ER, 2K:2BB in 2IP, and Rhiner Cruz allowed a hit and a walk in the 9th.

The RedHawks got six hits and were 0x8 w/RISP. Trevor Crowe, Jose Martinez (2B), Japhet Amador, Jimmy Paredes (BB), Marc Krauss (BB) and Raoul Torrez had your hits. Brandon Laird was 0x2 with two walks and the lone run scored. George Springer and Jon Singleton got the night off.

Man of the Match: Krauss, as he also had an outfield assist.

Corpus (80-55)

That is how you blow a game wide open, Corpus. The Hooks had a 6-5 lead heading into the bottom of the 8th when they allowed the tying run in the bottom of the 8th and a walk-off grand slam in the bottom of the 9th. Frisco wins 10-6. Kyle Hallock allowed 4H/5ER, 0K:2BB, 2HR in 1IP. Carlos Quevedo came in for 5IP of relief, allowing 0H/0ER, 4K:3BB; Matt Heidenreich gave up 4H/5ER, 2K:2BB in 2IP.

Erik Castro was 2x4 with a solo homer; Enrique Hernandez and Domingo Santana both had two-run home runs. Leo Heras was 0x2 with two walks and his first stolen base. Matt Duffy and Drew Muren added doubles in the losing effort.

Lancaster (80-55)

Lancaster took a 3-0 lead by the 4th inning on their way to their 80th win of the season, a 4-3 effort over Lake Elsinore. Mike Hauschild allowed 9H/2ER, 3K:2BB in 6IP; Michael Dimock gave up 2H/0ER, 1K:0BB; Kenny Long allowed a hit and an unearned run, and Travis Ballew got his 21st save.

MP Cokinos was 3x3 with a double, walk, and 2RBI; Carlos Perdomo was 2x4 with an RBI. Joe Sclafaniadded an RBI and Delino DeShields stole his 48th and 49th bases of the season.

Quad Cities (77-56)

Down 1-0, Quad Cities got three runs in the top of the 6th - all they needed for a 4-2 win over Wisconsin. Chris Devenski allowed 4H/1ER, 2K:1BB in 6IP; Richard Rodriguez allowed 1H/1ER in 1IP while Mitchell Lambson and Andrew Walter each threw perfect innings.

Jordan Scott was 2x4; Carlos Correa and Rio Ruiz (RBI) were 1x3 with a walk' Danry Vasquez added a triple and 2RBI. But leadoff batter Tony Kemp was 0x1 with four walks.

Tri-City (41-27)

One night after playing a 4:44 game, the ValleyCats and Cyclones wrapped up a 9-inning game in under two hours as the ValleyCats are held to one hit in a 1-0 loss at Brooklyn. Kyle Westwood threw 6IP, 4H/1R (0ER - the ValleyCats committed three errors last night) and Troy Scribner struck out three in 2IP. 13th Round pick Kyle Westwood has allowed 25H/4ER, 25K:5BB in 37.2IP for Tri-City this year for an 0.96 ERA/0.80 WHIP.

The Mets' 21st Round pick, John Gant, threw 9IP, 1H/0ER, 6K:1BB against Tri-City, so tip of the cap to him. Chan Moon got the hit (but was also caught stealing and made two errors). Ronnie Mitchell drew the walk.

Man of the Match: Kyle Westwood.

Greeneville (38-27) 0.5 GB

Kingsport regained a half-game lead with their win and Greeneville's 5-2 loss to Danville. Kingsport has made up three games on the Gastros in their last ten. Enderson Franco allowed 4H/3R (2ER), 1K:2BB in 5IP; Ryan Connolly allowed 3H/2R (1ER), 0K:1BB in 2IP. Gerardo Ramirez and Chris Munnelly threw scoreless innings.

Tanner Mathis was 3x4 with a double; Brett Phillips (RBI) and Alfredo Gonzalez had your other hits. Brian Holberton and Juan Santana drew walks while the Gastros struck out 10 times.

GCL Astros (27-32)

The GCL Astros and GCL Yankees2 fought to a 0-0 tie through five, but the Astros added one in the 6th and four in the 8th for a 5-0 win. Gerardo Juarez threw 3IP, 1H/0ER, 6K:3BB; Erick Gonzalez allowed 1H/0ER, 4K:0BB in 4IP and Brandon Culbreth allowed 2H/0ER, 3K:1BB in 2IP. (Culbreth is an interesting story - 8th Round pick in 2011, he has thrown in 19 games. Total. In three years.)

Luis Reynoso (3B) and Yonathan Mejia (2B, BB, SB, RBI) had two hits each. Jacob Nottingham was 1x4 with 2RBI. Mesac Laguna was 1x3 with an RBI. Javaris Reynolds was 1x3 with a walk.
