PreStros Morning Report: May 27

Oklahoma City (28-23), 1.0 up

OKC scored four runs in the 3rd inning, and that was all they needed in a 4-3 win at Iowa. Ross Seaton got his 2nd consecutive win, throwing 5.1IP, 3H/3ER, 1K:2BB, and lowering his ERA to 7.78. Alex Sogard (1.2IP, 1K:3BB), Rhiner Cruz (1K), Jose Valdez (1K) held the Cubs hitless over the final 3.2IP.

Cody Clark and Andy Simunic each had two hits; Jonathan Villar and Brett Wallace had a hit and a walk each. Marc Krauss and Jake Elmore drew two walks each. Elmore and Wallace had your RBIs. (Of note: Brian Bogusevic was 1x2 with 2BB and is hitting .369 for Iowa, Edwin Maysonet was 0x3)

Man of the Match: Hard to say. How about Ross Seaton, who just may be putting it together.

Corpus (30-20), 1.0 up

Brutal day for the Arkansas Travelers as Corpus came back from a 4-0 deficit to score the next 14 runs of the game for a 14-4 win. Nick Tropeano threw 5IP, 8H/4ER, 3K:2BB and Bobby Doran dominated the final 4IP with 2H/0ER, 2K:0BB.

Domingo Santana was 4x5 with a double and a solo homer; George Springer was 3x6 with 2HR, 5RBI; Rene Garcia (BB), Erik Castro (2B, BB, 2RBI), and Michael Burgess (2HR, 3RBI) had two hits each.

Lancaster (30-20), 3.5 up

Lancaster and Rancho Cucamonga traded three-run and one-run innings in the 8th and 9th, but Lancaster prevailed, 6-4. Aaron West threw 5IP, 1H/0ER, 4K:1BB; Blair Walters allowed 2.2IP, 2H/3ER, 5K:3BB, and Travis Ballew got his 9th save with 1.1IP, 1H/1ER, 3K:0BB.

Delino DeShields was 4x4 with an RBI and a walk; Raoul Torrez was 3x4 with an RBI; Joe Sclafani had a "bad day," going 1x5 with a 2-run double and lowering his average to .371. Preston Tucker and Brandon Meredith had a hit and two walks each; Tyler Heineman was 0x3 with a run on two walks.

Quad Cities (27-23), 3.5 GB

Quad Cities let a 4-0 lead get to 4-3 in the 5th inning, but stepped on the gas for an 11-4 win at Clinton.  Vincent Velasquez allowed 6H/3ER, 0K:2BB in 5IP; Jamaine Cotton allowed 4H/1ER, 3K:0BB over 3IP, and John Neely allowed a hit in a scoreless 9th.

Austin Elkins, Carlos Correa (2B, 4RBI), and Jobduan Morales (2RBI) had three hits each; Miles Hamblin was 2x4 with a walk, homer, and 2RBI; Jordan Scott was 1x2 with three walks and three runs scored in the 9-hole.
