Mock Draft Update

A Mock Draft of which to keep you abreast, one week out from the Draft (next Thursday, 6pm Central).

Jonathan Mayo: Jonathan Gray
The Astros are down to five candidates: two college pitchers (Gray and Mark Appel), two college hitters (Kris Bryant and Colin Moran) and one high schooler (Clint Frazier or Austin Meadows). There are whispers regarding Bryant and Moran, but Gray is still the pick.

Kohl Steward might be the HS in question. He has more upside than Gray or Appel. Luhnow took a HS pitcher early in the last draft, so HS pitchers don't scare him.

Stewart is possible if they're trying to save money on 1.1 and because Luhnow is unpredictable, but generally high school pitchers are considered too risky for a 1.1 pick.

Law just published that he thinks that we will pick Colin Moran. So Im pretty sure no one really knows what the Astros will do at the point, maybe not even the Astros themselves.

SI says the Astros are now leaning towards Bryant....which confirms that nobody knows anything at this point.....
