"We didn't come out here to play tiddlywinks, son."
I would love this. I also wouldn't mind his "modest realignment" proposal, I suppose... Not that I like the DH rule, but at least Carlos Lee wouldn't have to pretend he's an outfielder anymore.
I'm a fan of going one way or the other on the DH. I could argue either way, and I get both sides, and so honestly at this point, I could care less. Let's just figure this out once and for all.I'm also a fan of even allignment. The fact that our odds of winning the division are 1/6 but the Rangers are 1/4 isn't really fair...But I guess it doesn't really matter what I like because no one (of importance in the matter, at least) asked me of my opinion :(
I like the radical proposal. I have always wanted a legitimate Astros/Rangers rivalry and I am sure that other fans would love to see better regional rivalries as well. What I don't understand is why this argument always begins with the Yankees and Red Sox and AL East. I don't see how it changes their financial advantages to move them into separate divisions. That argument really only matters for the other AL East teams. Rosenthal is right. This whole thing will never happen unless there are far greater motivations that impact all the teams and all the fans. I do hope it happens someday though.
+1s to OremLK, Sides, and Spruce. My only concern with being put into a division with teams on the West Coast is the 9:05 start times. That would kill my immune system, staying up until midnight to watch at least 70 games.
