Astros Notes

Nice little notes section this morning.

Sean Berry is back!
“It’s tough going through what I’m going through, definitely. But it’s tough leaving these guys hanging, like I felt for three weeks. I’m tired of trying to jump into the television screen."

Thanks to the gut weasels that have laid Carlos Beltran low, Miguel Tejada is now your NL batting leader. Now hitting .353, Tejada's average is now .001 higher than Carlos Benedict Arnold.

Jose Valverde, with a freshly drained calf (/retch), threw off the mound yesterday and reported that "Everything's good." He'll throw a bullpen today and will take grounders before throwing to real live hitters (such as the Astros are) on Saturday.

Plan to see Berkman in that 5-hole for a little while, switching with Hunter Pence.

Geoff Geary will throw a simulated game today.
