With the win the Astros hold their wild card elimination number at three. They're still three games back of the wild card with a very small chance of making the playoffs.
Seattle Mariners at Houston Astros - 1:10 p.m. CT - This is the last game of the series. a loss here would not mathematically eliminate them but gets them close.
Baltimore Orioles at Toronto Blue Jays - 6:07 p.m. CT - The Orioles need to lose. Go Blue Jays!
Cleveland Indians at Detroit Tigers - 6:10 p.m. CT - Hopefully, the Tigers got all their runs out during the 12-0 victory over the Indians. Indians need to win.

Games that sort of matter September 27, 2016
The reality is that the Astros still have a few games left in the math. A lot has to go right and they have to win all the games remaining in the season. Playoffs or not, the baseball season is winding down and I intend to take in as much baseball as I can.
Here are the games to keep an eye on.
Baltimore Orioles at Toronto Blue Jays - 6:07 p.m. ET - The two teams holding a wild card spot battle each other for three games. At this point a Blue Jays win would be the most beneficial to the Astros.
Cleveland Indians at Detroit Tigers - 6:10 p.m. ET - Indians have the division. A Detroit loss would be very nice at this point.
Seattle Mariners at Houston Astros - 7:10 p.m. ET - Astros need to beat the Mariners. This series may determine who between the Marines and Astros moves on in the Wild Card chase. Both teams will have to rely on at least two teams to lose to move on, regardless.

Games that matter - September 21, 2016
With the Astros two games out and 10 games from being eliminated
from the wild card, here are the games to keep an eye on today.
Houston Astros at Oakland Athletics - 2:35 p.m. CT - Just sweep!
Toronto Blue Jays at Seattle Mariners - 2:40 p.m. CT - Blue Jays have the first wild card spot. The Mariners are three games out from the second wild card spot. This is probably a win-win for the Astros scenario. If the Blue Jays win it pushes the Mariners out another game. If the Mariners win it keeps both wild car spots close.
Boston Red Sox at Baltimore Orioles - 6:05 p.m. CT - Boston has a comfortable lead in the division. The Orioles still hold the second wild card spot. It would be beneficial to the Astros cause for the Red Sox to beat the Orioles.
Detroit Tigers at Minnesota Twins - 7:10 p.m. CT - The Tigers are a game and a half back of the Orioles for the second wild card spot. A Twins win would be super duper for the Astros.

Games that matter - September 20, 2016
With the Astros three games out and 10 games away from being eliminated from the wild card, here are the games to keep an eye on today.
Boston Red Sox at Baltimore Orioles - 6:05 p.m. CT - The Red Sox lead the division and the Orioles hold one of the two wild card spots. It would benefit the Astros if the Red Sox provided the Orioles with a loss.
Detroit Tigers at Minnesota Twins - 7:10 p.m. CT - The Tigers are half a game up on the Astros for a wild card spot. Go Twins!
Toronto Blue Jays at Seattle Mariners - 9:10 p.m. CT - Playing the same time as the Astros, this will be a good one to scoreboard watch. The Blue Jays hold the others wild card spot and the Mariners are even with the Astros in the hunt for a wild card spot. A Blue Jays loss would be ideal, but a Mariners loss wouldn't be terrible.
And of course...
Houston Astros at Oakland Athletics - 9:10 p.m. CT - Just win baby!
