Scott Migl signs with Fort Worth Cats

Astros' 34th-Round pick Scott Migl, released last week, has signed with the Fort Worth Cats.

I really need one of these "sources"

Farmstros has a few things of note from a source in Florida. First, a report from yesterday that RHPs Scott Migl and Jack Tilghman have been cut. There were also apparently numerous cuts taking place on Monday night, but the only one confirmed by Farmstros was LHP Michael Hacker.

This is in addition to a report that Casey Hudspeth and Jordan Powell were cut.

Which is building on this report that seven younguns were cut: Sean Barksdale, OF; Craig Corrado, IF; Michael Diaz, IF; Spencer Hylander, LHP; Antonio Noguera, LHP; Ben Paxton, P; Kirkland Rivers, LHP

We'll keep an eye out for who these cuts might be...

Control was the big problem for A&M's Scott Migl, who started the season in Greeneville, got moved up to Tri-City on July 11, and got moved back to Greeneville on August 3. And it's pretty easy to see why, based on his numbers at Tri-City. Migl walked 13 in 8.2IP at Tri-City with three WPs. At Greeneville, it looked like he felt more comfortable, with August providing a more realistic representation of his season. As with all players in the 2009 draft class, let's give him a full 2010 before passing any judgment...
