Reno had a 3-0 lead after four innings, and the Grizzlies got two back in the 5th, but just couldn't get that tying run over in a 3-2 loss. Carlos Correa was 2x2 with his 5th homer of the season, a double, two walks, and a stolen base. He's now hitting .400/.468/.800 with 15K:8BB and is a grown-ass man. Tyler Heineman also had two hits on the night; Tony Kemp, Conrad Gregor (RBI), Telvin Nash (2B, RBI), and Teoscar Hernandez (RBI) added hits.

Well. Rancho Cucamonga got out to a 9-1 lead by the end of the 6th, and withstood a brief Lancaster rally to win 10-5. Evan Grills allowed 4H/3R (2ER), 3K:2BB in 4IP; Tyler Brunnemann allowed a hit and a walk in 1IP with 2K; Troy Scribner had a rare bad outing, allowing 6H/7ER, 3K:3BB in 4IP; Gonzalo Sanudo walked one in the 9th.
Chan Moon (BB, 3RBI) and J.D. Davis each had two hits including a triple; Jack Mayfield hit a solo homer, and Danry Vasquez was 1x3 with a walk to provide your offense. James Ramsay was 0x2 with 2BB.

Quad Cities (13-6)
Pitcher's duel in Quad Cities as Cedar Rapids and Quad Cities were tied 0-0 going into extras, and it stayed that way until the 11th when Cedar Rapids scratched out an unearned run to defeat Quad Cities 1-0. Bryan Radziewski allowed just 2H/0ER, 4K:0BB in 5IP and Joe Musgrove threw 6IP, 4H/1R (0ER), 1K:0BB but committed two of the River Bandits' four errors.
Mott Hyde was 3x5 with a double; Sean McMullen was 2x4 with a triple and a walk. Bobby Boyd and Nick Tanielu each had a hit and a walk.
Man of the Match: Both Radziewski and Musgrove, despite the two errors. The River Bandits were 0x8 w/RISP.

Oklahoma City (24-21)
New Orleans jumped out to a 6-0 lead before OKC pulled two back in the 8th inning in a 6-2 loss. Brett Oberholtzer allowed 9H/6R (5ER), 3K0BB in 5IP; Rhiner Cruz (2IP, 1H/0ER, 3K:0BB) and Kevin Chapman (1IP, 2K:1BB) finished out the game.
Jon Singleton was 1x2 with two walks and an RBI; Robbie Grossman had two of the RedHawks' six hits, including a double and an RBI; Andy Simunic was 1x3 with a walk; Max Stassi and Enrique Hernandez had the other hits.

Zach Morton allowed 8H/4ER, 1K:0BB in 3.2IP; Richard Rodriguez struck out six and allowed a hit in 2.1IP; Mitchell Lambson had a rough outing, giving up 4H/4ER, 4K:1BB in 2IP.

A few transactions of note on the minor-league side:
*Kyle Smith (acquired in the Justin Maxwell trade with Kansas City) was promoted from Lancaster (High-A) to Corpus (Double-A).
In seven games (27.2IP), Smith allowed 19H/8ER, 31K:12BB for a 2.60 ERA/1.08 WHIP and only 3HR for Lancaster.
*Via Eric Smith, Brian Holmes (13th Round - 2012) was activated at Lancaster, and Richard Rodriguez has been assigned to Oklahoma City.
This will be Holmes' 2014 debut after allowing 52H/17ER, 62K:19BB at Quad Cities in 2013.
Richard Rodriguez was signed as an amateur free agent prior to the 2010 season. He struck out 41 batters in 44.1IP in 2013 with Tri-City and Quad Cities. In two games for Lancaster in 2014 he allowed one hit - a solo homer - and struck out five in 2.1IP.

OKC lost a tough one to Nashville (MIL) 3-2 on a walk-off home run.
Brian Bass threw 5 innings, allowing 2 R on 3 H and 2 BB with 2 K.
Hector Ambriz pitched 1.1 innings and allowed 3 H with 2 K. Juan Abreu went .2
innings with 1 BB. Adalberto Flores took the loss with 1 inning pitched and 1 R
on 2 H, including the winning HR.
RF-JB Shuck was 1x4 with 1 3B and 2 RBI. CF-Brad Snyder went 1x3
with 1 2B.

the final inning with 1 K.

Further words on the PED suspensions today
Zach Levine, conveniently in Corpus, filed a report with some quotes regarding the Meszaros, Fixler, Cabral, and Rodriguez suspensions for use of an undisclosed PED.
Wade, in a statement:
"The Houston Astros fully support the efforts of the Commissioner’s Office to rid our sport of any type of inappropriate drug use. Our players and staff have been briefed, counseled, educated and warned about what the ramifications and consequences are when they choose, either knowingly or not, to violate the MLB drug policy. And yet, despite the best efforts of MLB and the Astros, we still have individuals who abuse our game by ignoring reality. We are embarrassed by these types of suspensions. They are a smear on our game and our organization, and we will redouble our efforts to make sure the message gets through."

"I’m always disappointed when our guys make those kind of choices," said Bennett, who stressed that performance-enhancing drug dissuasion takes place at every level of the system. "Unfortunately it happens sometimes."

Astros DSL prospect popped for PEDs
Jorge Arangure, Jr says that DSL Astros prospect Richard Rodriguez has been suspended 50 games for PED use.
Rodriguez is a 20-year old, 6'4" 185lb RHP, and is 2-1 in five starts for the DSL Astros, with a 2.00 ERA/1.06 WHIP.
Rodriguez tested positive for metabolites of stanozolol, according to the Washington Post.
Rodriguez is the third Astros prospect to get suspended for PED use (Felix Ramirez and Gabriel Garcia, who pitched last night) in the last 13 months.
