PreStros Morning Report: July 15


*Astros affiliates went 1-1 on the day; composite 244-215 domestic record.
*Telvin Nash was 3x4 with a double in a 6-3 Corpus loss to Midland.
*Randy Cesar went 4x5 with three runs scored in a 6-5 GCL Astros win.

Corpus (13-12, 3.5 GB; 47-48 overall)

A 4-run 3rd inning gave Midland all they needed in a 6-3 win at Corpus. Mike Hauschild allowed 7H/5ER, 8K:3BB in 5IP; Richard Rodriguez allowed just 1H/0ER, 5K:0BB in 3IP, and Mitchell Lambson allowed an unearned run in 1IP with 2Ks.

Telvin Nash was 3x4 with a double and an RBI; Ruben Sosa (2B, 2RBI) and Andrew Aplin (BB, outfield assist) had two hits each.

Despite committing three errors, the GCL Astros scored the final three runs of the game for a 6-5 win over the GCL Pirates. Joselo Pinales allowed 5H/3R (2ER), 1K:2BB in 3IP; J.D. Osborne allowed 0H/2ER, 0K:3BB in 0.2IP; Cristhopher Santamaria allowed 3H/0ER, 4K:1BB in 3.1IP while Alejandro Solarte and Juan Delis threw a scoreless inning each.

Randy Cesar was 4x5 with a double and three runs scored; Brauly Mejia (2B, BB, RBI) and Ruben Castro (2RBI) had two hits each.

Hooks pitchers need to walk Midland RockHound Max Muncy when he comes up to the plate with the bases loaded....he's 2 for 2 on clearing the bases. Grand slams on consecutive nights. Kind of the same philosophy the San Antonio Missions needed to use on Drew Locke when he played for the Hooks. 3 for 3 on grand slams with the bases loaded.
