PreStros Morning Report: June 9

TL;DR

*Astros affiliates go 2-2 on the day for a composite 141-116 record
*Matt Duffy hit three homers in a 6-2 OKC win over Salt Lake
*Corpus falters late in a 7-2 loss to San Antonio
*Teoscar Hernandez - and pretty much everybody else - went off in a 15-2 win at Visalia
*Chris Lee struggled early as Quad Cities lost to Peoria

Oklahoma City (35-30)

Well now. Matt Duffy was struggling in his Triple-A debut (two hits in his first 26 ABs). Now...? Not so much. Duffy hit a homer in the 2nd, 4th, and 8th inning - all solo shots - to help power OKC to a 6-2 win over Salt Lake. Duffy's last four hits have left the yard. Nick Tropeano threw 7IP, 4H/2ER, 7K:1BB (68 of 104 pitches for strikes) with eight groundball outs; Ross Seaton and Kevin Chapman each allowed a hit in an otherwise scoreless inning.

 In addition to Duffy's bombs, Domingo Santana hit a solo shot and a double in a 2x4 day; L.J. Hoes was 3x4 with an RBI. Marc Krauss added a hit and a walk.

Corpus (31-32), 6.5 GB

San Antonio got two 1st inning runs which Corpus pulled back by the end of the 6th inning, and then the Missions added a run in the 7th and four in the 8th for a 7-2 win at Corpus. David Rollins allowed 4H/2ER, 4K:1BB in 5IP; Brady Rodgers gave up 5H/5R (3ER), 1K:1BB in 3IP and Pat Urckfitz allowed 2H/0ER in 1IP.

Preston Tucker was 3x4 with his 15th homer of the season; Ruben Sosa was 2x5, and Jio Mier (BB) and Tyler Heineman added hits.

Lancaster (42-24), 4.0 games up

First it was 4-0 Lancaster, then 6-0, 7-0, 8-0. Visalia got two runs in the 5th, but Lancaster scored the next seven runs in a 15-2 shellacking at Visalia. Josh Hader allowed just 4H/2ER, 3K:1BB in 7IP and J.D. Osborne walked one in the final 2IP.

Teoscar Hernandez went 4x6 with two doubles, a homer, a stolen base and 3RBI. Rio Ruiz (RBI), Roberto Pena (2BB, 4R), and Conrad Gregor (HR, 3RBI) had three hits each. Tanner Mathis (BB, SB), Carlos Correa (2B, BB), Dan Gulbransen (2B, 3RBI) and Jack Mayfield (2B, 2RBI) each added two hits.

Quad Cities (33-30), 9.5 GB

Peoria jumped out to an early 4-0 lead and Quad Cities couldn't recover in an 8-4 home loss. Chris Lee gave up 6H/5ER, 0K:5BB in 4IP; Albert Minnis allowed 4H/2ER, 0K:1BB and two balks in 3IP, and Pat Christensen gave up 3H/1ER, 2K:0BB in 2IP.

Ronnie Mitchell was 2x3 with a double, homer, and 2RBI; Jon Kemmer was 1x2 with two walks. Brian Holberton was 1x4 with an RBI double.
