Today the Astros traded OKC outfielder Adron Chambers to Toronto for LHP Alejandro Solarte and infielder Will Dupont.
Chambers signed as a free agent with the Astros last November, but didn't make his way to Houston. In 25 games for Oklahoma City, Chambers hit .281/.356/.416 with 14K:10BB in 102 PAs.
19-year old Alejandro Solarte is a 6'4" 180lb LHP from Venezuela. He made his domestic debut in the GCL in 2013, allowing 28H/8ER, 15K:5BB (2.96 ERA/1.36 WHIP) in 24.1IP.
20-year old Will Dupont is 6'0" 170lbs, and bats left and throws right. He was the Blue Jays' 16th Round pick in the 2012 draft. He also spent 2013 in the GCL, and hit .262/.338/.311 with 13K:6BB in 26 games (68 PAs).
So Chambers is the roster casualty of Preston Tucker's promotion...
