LoHud Journal: Two games into the season, though, the Yankees are being thoroughly outhit by the Astros. The Astros! Two games hardly mean a thing in the course of a baseball season, but two games against a team that lost 111 games last season? It's deflating, especially coming out of a spring that actually felt fairly encouraging for this team.
Joel Sherman, New York Post: Still, with the teams widely expected to finish last in the AL West and East, respectively - Houston and Toronto - on the schedule to open, the Yankees were looking to jump-start their season. Heck, the Astros had lost their final 15 games last year, including the last three to a Yankees squad that was hardly trying.
Mark Feinsand, New York Daily News: It's hard to call the third game of a 162-game season a must-win, but getting swept by an Astros team that lost 111 games last season would make for a very long flight to Toronto Thursday night.
