PreStros Morning Report: April 17

TL;DR

*Affiliates go a big ol' 0-4.
*McHugh and Tropeano hold Colorado Springs to four hits through 8.2IP but OKC falls in extra innings.
*Preston Tucker was 2x4 with a double and a homer, but Corpus falls to Frisco on a walk-off.
*Josh Hader allowed 5ER in 2.2IP in an 8-4 Lancaster loss to High Desert.
*Gonzalo Sanudo threw four scoreless innings but Quad Cities gets shutout, 5-0.

Oklahoma City (10-5)

Colorado Springs carried a 1-0 lead into the 7th before newly promoted Enrique Hernandez walked, stole 2nd and scored the tying run on a deflection off the shortstop. A Gregorio Petit sac fly gave OKC the lead in the top of the 10th, but Colorado Springs got it back in the bottom half and then got the walk-off on a double, sac bunt, sac fly for a 3-2 extra-innings win over OKC. Collin McHugh allowed 3H/1ER, 3K:0BB in 5IP; Nick Tropeano gave up just 1H/0ER, 2K:0BB in 3.2IP; Darin Downs took the loss with 3H/2ER in 2IP.

Enrique Hernandez was 2x3 with two walks in his Triple-A debut, Austn Wates was 1x3 with two walks and three stolen bases. Jonathan Meyer (RBI) and Ronny Torreyes (3B) had your other hits.

Corpus (8-5)

Corpus had a 2-1 lead going into the bottom of the 8th, allowed the tying run, and then gave up the walkoff to Frisco in the bottom of the 9th in a 3-2 loss. Colton Cain gave up 2H/1ER, 3K:3BB in 4IP; Pat Urckfitz threw a perfect 5th; and Brady Rodgers allowed 6H/2R (1ER), 2K:1IBB, HBP to take the loss.

Preston Tucker was 2x4 with a double and a solo homer; Leo Heras was 0x1 with three walks. Rene Garcia, Telvin Nash and Delino DeShields (2B) had your other hits.

Lancaster (10-5)

Lancaster scored three runs in the bottom of the 7th to get within 5-4, but High Desert answered with three of their own in the top of the 8th for an 8-4 win over Lancaster. Chris Devenski allowed 5H/3ER, 5K:1BB; Mitchell Lambson got out of the 5th by striking out the two batters he faced. Josh Hader allowed 6H/5ER, 2K:3BB in 2.2IP; Juan Minaya gave up a hit and struck out two in 1.1IP.

Rio Ruiz (RBI), Brandon Meredith (2BB), and Jake Rodriguez had two hits each; Carlos Correa was 0x4 with a walk; Teoscar Hernandez was 1x4 with a walk and a stolen base. Carlos Perdomo was 1x2 with two walks.

Quad Cities (7-7)

South Bend scored two in the 5th and three in the 9th and held the River Bandits to five hits in a 5-0 shutout at Quad Cities. Gonzalo Sanudo got his first official start since 2012 and threw 4IP, 3H/0ER, 2K:0BB; Albert Minnis allowed 3H/2R (1ER); Adrian Houser allowed 5H/3ER, 3K:0BB in 3IP and Pat Christensen allowed a two-run hit charged to Houser.

Brett Phillips, Jack Mayfield (2B, BB), Brian Holberton, Tanner Mathis (2B), and Chan Moon (2B) had your hits.
