Jose Dariel Abreu update

According to MLB.com's Jesse Sanchez, you can cross the Rangers, Giants, and Marlins off the list (the latter probably because he wouldn't agree to immediately be traded for fourteen players) of teams interested in acquiring the services of Jose Dariel Abreu.

And according to Sanchez's sources, Abreu could sign "within in the next two weeks."

The Crawfish Boxes has a great piece up on whether or not Abreu would be worth a $70m deal.

The white sox just signed him. Let's not pretend they actually tried to sign this guy. Smoke and mirrors to give what's left of the fans hope just to rip their hearts out. What a joke.

Anonymous 1, I'd bet dollars to pesos you never even heard of Abreu before yesterday.

The Astros made an offer. It does not say the White Sox did. I guess we will have to wait and see how this plays out.

Whatever number2 I heard about him on the CFB when we signed Amador and people were speculating in the threads who else would be available internationally. I can't remember exactly so bite me.
