PreStros Morning Report: September 2

*Oklahoma City starts a Best-of-Five series against Omaha at home on Wednesday
*Corpus starts a Best-of-Five series against San Antonio at home on Wednesday
*Lancaster starts of Best-of-Five series against a TBD opponent at home on Saturday
*Quad Cities starts a Best-of-Three series against Cedar Rapids at home on Wednesday
*Tri-City is 1.5 up with two to play

Oklahoma City (82-62)

Jon Singleton hit a walk-off double off the wall in a 2-1 season finale win over Memphis. Ross Seaton threw a strong start: 8IP, 8H/1ER, 2K:1BB with 14 groundouts (four flyouts). Jason Stoffel, though, gets the win with 1H/0ER, 0K:1BB.

Singleton was 2x4 with the aforementioned RBI double; Jimmy Paredes had the other extra-base hit, a double in a 1x4 game. Jose Martinez provided yet another RBI. Raoul Torrez was 1x2 with a walk and a stolen base.

Corpus (83-57)

Corpus had a 7-3 lead and withstood a two-run San Antonio 9th inning to hold on for a 7-6 win. Four Hooks errors led to five unearned San Antonio runs. Ruben Alaniz allowed 7H/4R (1ER), 3K:1BB; Alex Sogard threw 2.2IP, 0H/1R (0ER), 2K:1BB; and Jonas Dufek allowed an unearned run in 1IP.

Domingo Santana was 3x4 with 2HR/4RBI; Ronny Torreyes was 2x3 with a walk; Enrique Hernandez, Preston Tucker, Drew Muren (2B, OF assist), and Luis Alvarez (RBI) had your other hits.

Lancaster (82-58)

Rancho Cucamonga got a run in the bottom of the 9th but it was all Lancaster in an 8-1 win. Aaron West struck out eight and walked one in five innings of two-hit pitching; Tyson Perez threw 2.1IP, 0H/0ER, 2K:2BB; Jordan Jankowski gave up 3H/1ER, 2K:0BB in 1.2IP.

Chris Epps was 2x3 with two solo homers and two walks; Andrew Aplin was 3x5 with a double and 3RBI; Delino DeShields was 2x3 with a homer and two walks; MP Cokinos was 2x5 with an RBI.

Quad Cities (81-57)

Beloit took a 1-0 lead in the 2nd, Quad Cities responded with three runs over the next two innings, and held on for a 3-2 win. Daniel Minor threw 6IP, 6H/2R (1ER), 5K:0BB; Jamaine Cotton threw 2IP, 1H/0ER, 3K:0BB and Zach Morton threw a perfect 9th inning for his first save for Quad Cities. 

Jordan Scott (two triples, RBI) and Roberto Pena (BB) had two hits and a run scored each; Teoscar Hernandez had a solo homer and a walk; Danry Vasqez had a hit and a walk; Bobby Borchering drew two walks, and Carlos Correa provided an RBI single.

Tri-City (43-31) 1.5 up

Tri-City tied the game up at 1-1 in the 4th and added two more runs in the 8th to win 3-1 and take a 1.5 game lead on Lowell with two to play. Kyle Westwood threw 7IP, 3H/1R (0ER), 4K:1BB; Charles Basford and Tyler Brunnemann threw a perfect 8th and 9th inning, respectively.

Tyler White was 3x3 with a double, walk, and an RBI; Conrad Gregor was 2x4; Ronnie Mitchell had two RBI sac flies and an outfield assist at home. Brett Booth was 1x3 with a walk.
