Erik Bedard won't ask for a trade

Recently dropped from the rotation (Paul Clemens will make his first ML start tomorrow at Chicago), Erik Bedard said he would not ask for a trade, but "wouldn't be heartbroken" if it happened.

ESPN's Rumor Central said the Cardinals and Rangers could be interested if Bedard is shopped at a "highly discounted rate."

So the question is: What provides more value - the cash that would come from the Cardinals and/or Rangers, or the ability to let Bedard slog through three innings in relief?

I assume he is only signed through this year. If so, just don't sell him to the Rangers. No reason to give them any help in their take over of the Texas market.
