The Giants have checked in on Bud Norris

The San Francisco Giants are looking hard for starting pitching, and have apparently checked in on Bud Norris, according to Danny Knobler.

It's too early in the process to make a good guess on who the Giants will eventually go for, but Giants people have been asking about Ricky Nolasco of the Marlins and Bud Norris of the Astros, among others. It doesn't appear the Giants have begun in-depth conversations with either of those teams, however.

So there it is - the trade rumor mill starts on June 11!

Isn't Bud from the Bay Area? Might be a good fit for him.

Do they have a stick they're willing to part with? Prefereably one that doesn't whiff 30% of their at bats?

The Giants have kind of cleared out their minor league assets in the Beltran and Pence deals the last two seasons. I'm not sure they have anything that appealing to offer for Bud.
