PreStros Morning Report: June 18

Oklahoma City (37-32), 2.0 GB

OKC broke a scoreless tie with three runs in the top of the 7th inning and held on for a 3-1 win at New Orleans. Brad Peacock threw 6IP, allowing just 6H/0ER, 5K:1BB to improve to 2-2. Eric Berger threw 1.2IP, 0H/0ER, 1K:1BB and Josh Zeid got his 4th save of the year despite allowing 3H/1ER, 2K:0BB in the 9th.

Jake Elmore and Che-Hsuan Lin had two hits each, with Lin getting the lone RBI. Jon Singleton was 1x4, and Marc Krauss and Jose Martinez had your other hits.

Man of the Match: Brad Peacock.

Corpus (42-28), 3.0 up

And San Antonio went off for 16 hits and eight runs in an 8-4 win at Corpus. Ruben Alaniz allowed 6H/4R (2ER), 2K:3BB in 4IP; Jorge De Leon allowed 7H/3R (2ER), 2K:1BB in 2.2IP and Gonzalo Sanudo gave up 3H/1ER, 0K:1BB in 2.1IP. Three of San Antonio's eight runs were unearned.

George Springer was 3x4 with his 20th double of the season and his 20th and 21st stolen bases of the year; Jonathan Meyer was 2x4 with a double, homer, and 3RBI. Domingo Santana was 1x4 with a double, and Max Stassi had a hit and a walk.

Lancaster

The Carolina League vs. Cal League All-Star Game with the Carolina League rocking the Cal League 12-2. Andrew Aplin was 1x3, Preston Tucker was 1x2 with a run scored, Matt Duffy was 1x3 with a sac fly and an RBI as all three got doubles.  Brady Rodgers threw a perfect 6th inning.

Quad Cities

And in the East vs West Midwest League All-Star Game, the East won 6-5. Lance McCullers threw a perfect first inning; Jordan Jankowski gave up four hits and four unearned runs. Carlos Correa was 2x3.

Tri-City (2-0), 0.5 up

Despite Vermont's four runs in the top of the 8th, Tri-City moved to 2-0 with a 9-6 win. Tanner Bushue threw 4.1IP, 4H/2ER, 3K:1BB; Albert Minnis got his first professional win with 1H/0ER in 0.2IP; Adrian Houser gave up 6H/4R (3ER) in 2IP; Pat Christensen allowed a hit (and two of Houser's runs) in 1IP and a rehabbing Chia-Jen Lo got his first save, striking out two in the 9th.

And despite going 0x13 w/RISP, the ValleyCats prevail thanks to five unearned runs. James Ramsay and Luis Alvarez (2B, BB, RBI) had two hits each. Tony Kemp hit his first professional homer and drew a walk; Dan Gulbransen was 1x5 with a 2-run homer in the 5th. Jon Kemmer was 1x2 with 2BB.
