PreStros Morning Report: April 6

Oklahoma City (2-1)

Josh Zeid picked up his first win of the season (due to Jarred Cosart's ND) and John Ely got his first save as the RedHawks took Saturday night's game from Memphis, 3-1. Cosart reached his 75 pitches after 16 batters (39 strikes), but was able to limit the damage to 3H/1ER, 5K:2BB. Josh Zeid walked one in the 5th, earning the win, and John Ely closed out the last four innings with 2H/0ER, 3K:2BB of work.

Trevor Crowe and Jimmy Paredes (2B, RBI) were each 2x4, while Marc Krauss was 1x3 with 2RBI and a sac fly.

Man of the Match: John Ely

Corpus Christi (2-1)

Corpus got out to a 4-0 lead in the 5th and didn't look back, taking a 5-2 win from Springfield. Asher Wojciechowski was Straight Dealing as he allowed 1H/0ER, 7K:1BB in 5IP, facing 17 batters in his highly efficient 77 pitches. David Martinez gave up 4H/2ER, 1K:0BB (2HR), and Alex Sogard got the save, with 1H/0ER in 1.1IP.

But the fireworks came from the plate, where it apparently felt good to be a gangster. Jonathan Meyer was 3x4 with a solo HR, and George Springer (2R, BB) and Domingo Santana (2RBI) each hit homers. Austin Wates was 1x3 with a walk.

Quad Cities (3-0)

Quad Cities needed a nutso game over Kane County to preserve the undefeated season, letting an 8-1 lead in the 3rd slip away, and getting three in the top of the 11th for a 13-10 win. Colton Cain threw 5IP, 7H/3ER, 2K:0BB and Mike Hauschild relieved him with 5H/4ER, 2K:0BB in 1.1IP. Mitche Lambson allowed 1H/0ER, 1K:1BB in 1.2IP.
