Pre Stros Report April 10th

AAA

Oklahoma City (5-2)

Oklahoma City defeated the Nashville Sounds (3-4) 3-1 tonight, behind a strong start from to pitching prospect Jared Cosart. Cosart got his first win of the season, allowing one hit and striking out 7 over 5 innings. Wes Musick would follow Cosart with 3 innings allowing one hit, a home run to Dayton Butler, and striking out 4. Jose Valdez got his 2nd save of the season with a perfect 9th.

Jimmy Paredes hit his 1st home run of the season, a 2 run shot in the 4th scoring Che-Hsuan Lin. Jake Elmore had a double and a run scored. Robbie Grossman had a hit and 2 walks. Trevor Crowe also had a knock.

Man of the match: Jared Cosart. 7k's and 1 hit in 5 innings pitched.

Lancaster (5-1)

Lancaster defeated Lake Elsinore (1-5) 7 - 5, collecting 10 hits including homers from Matt Duffy and Nolan Fontana. Fontana would total 3 hits in 5 ABs, with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. Brandon Meredith had 2 hits including a double and a triple. Zach Johnson followed his 5 hit evening with a 1 for 5 night that included an RBI and a double. Andrew Aplin had one hit, a triple, two walks and a run scored.

The pitching was good enough for a win...in the Cal league. Chris Devenski got his 1st win of the season going 5 innings, allowing 5 hits, 1 run, a walk, 3 K's and a homer.
Brady Rodgers got roughed up in 3.1 innings pitching, allowing 7 hits, 4 runs, striking out 4 and giving up 2 homers.
Travis Ballew hot his 2nd save of the season pitching 2/3 of an innings with a strike out.
