Oklahoma City (24-19) 

The RedHawks continued their recent power surge with four home runs Sunday and beat the Aces 10-9.

Mickey Storey started for just the second time in his professional career and went 3 innings, giving up 5 R on 5 H and 2 BB with 7 K. Juan Abreu threw 2 innings and gave up 2 R on 3 H (2 HR) and 1 BB with 2 K. Xavier Cedeno gave up his first earned run of the season while pitching 1.1 innings with 3 H. David Carpenter pitched a scoreless 1.2 innings with 2 K. Jose Valdez got the save with 1 inning pitched, allowing 1 unearned run on 2 H with 3 K.

SS-Brian Bixler was 2x6 with 1 2B, 1 R, and 1 RBI. 2B-Jimmy Paredes was 2x4 with 1 RBI. RF-Fernando Martinez was 1x5 with 1 HR and 2 RBI. LF-Scott Moore was 1x3 with 1 BB and 1 HR. 3B-Brett Wallace went 2x5 with 1 HR. C-Landon Powell was 2x5 with 1 HR, 2 R, and 2 RBI.

*Notes: OKC has hit 28 home runs in their last 15 games, including 12 in their last four games at Reno. The RedHawks now lead the league in home runs (50). Over his last 10 games, Brett Wallace is hitting .341/.341/.561 with three home runs, but he has zero walks and 11 strikeouts over that same stretch. Wes Musick has been called up from Corpus for a spot start.

Corpus Christi (18-25) 

Allowing a pair of extra base hits with the bases loaded doomed the Hooks as they lost 9-3 to Midland (OAK).

Jose Cisnero went 4 innings and allowed 4 R on 5 H and 3 BB with 5 K. Henry Villar pitched 1 scoreless inning followed by Alex Sogard with 2 scoreless. Josh Zeid was charged with 5 R on 4 H and 1 BB in just .1 innings. Erick Abreu allowed all three inherited runners to score before settling down for the final two outs.

SS-Andy Simunic was 1x4 with 1 BB. 1B-Kody Hinze was 0x2 with 2 BB, 1 SB, and 1 R. C-Ryan McCurdy went 1x3 with 1 BB and 1 R and threw out the only attempted base stealer.

*Notes:  Over his last five starts, Cisnero is 0-4 with a 9.87 ERA. He’s thrown 17.1 innings over that stretch with 13 BB and 17 K and opponents have hit .360 against him.

Lancaster (23-21) 

After jumping out to a 2-0 lead, the JetHawks couldn’t keep up as High Desert (SEA) poured on the offense, eventually losing 11-4.

David Martinez lasted 4.1 innings and gave up 7 R on 9 H and 3 BB with 8 K. Jose Trinidad allowed 3 R in 3 innings on 5 H with 1 K. Pat Urckfitz pitched .2 innings and allowed 1 H. Gabriel Garcia threw the final inning and allowed 1 R on 1 H, a solo HR.

CF-George Springer went 2x4 with 2 R. LF-Adam Bailey was 4x4 with 1 HR and 2 RBI. C-Ben Heath went 2x4 with 1 2B and 1 RBI.

*Notes: George Springer currently has an 11 game hitting streak. He’s hitting .524 over that stretch with six homeruns, 13 runs scored, and 11 runs batted in and has raised his batting average from .269 to .335.

Lexington (22-20) 

Luis Cruz pitched another gem and the Legends offense provided plenty of support as Lexington beat Kannapolis (CHW) 7-1.

Cruz went 7.2 shutout innings, allowing just 3 H and 2 BB with 7 K. Euris Quezada pitched the final 1.1 innings and gave up 1 R on 3 H.

CF-Jordan Scott was 3x5 with 1 2B and 2 R. 1B-Zach Johnson was 2x5 with 1 2B, 1 R, and 2 RBI. 3B-Matt Duffy went 4x5 with 2 2B, 2 R, and 2 RBI. RF-Drew Muren was 3x4 with 1 BB, 1 2B, and 2 RBI.

Man of the Match: Luis Cruz/Matt Duffy

*Notes: In four May starts, Luis Cruz is 3-0 with a 0.69 ERA. In 26 innings he’s walked seven batters and struck out 26 while allowing opponents to hit just .198 against him. Over his last 11 games, Jordan Scott is hitting .333 with seven doubles, seven runs scored, and six runs batted in.
