Corpus seemingly can't go a season without a ridiculous losing streak

Trostel will get into this later on, I'm sure, but it's apparently written into Corpus' contract with the Texas League that they'll endure a ridiculous losing streak at some point during the season.

Last night, the Hooks lost 1-0 for their third straight shutout, and it's now 28 innings since the Hooks last scored a run.

In 2011, the Hooks went from May 5-14 (9 games) without a win, and then had a 12-game losing streak in August. And of course, Corpus had a 16-game losing streak in June-July 2010.

Hooks manager Keith Bodie:
"We've just managed to have everybody going in the same direction at the same time. Nobody's stepping up to the situation. We just need that one big hit that can get us over the hump. We just have not been able to get that."
