Roy has been talking to the Cardinals

Courtesy of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch's Joe Strauss we read that Roy has been talking to a Cardinal, reiterating his desire to leave the Astros and join the Cardinals for romantic interludes (this has a Steve Phillips feel to it. And I feel dirty):

GM John Mozeliak:
"At this point, it's entirely possible that there may not be a deal out there (for pitching). We're continuing to explore avenues, but as we speak I can't say I'm encouraged."

Strauss:
On Saturday Oswalt reiterated his wish to be dealt to St. Louis to at least one Cardinals player. However, Oswalt's willingness to restructure a $16 million option for 2012 may not overcome the Astros' steep asking price in personnel. One club official senses squeamishness by Astros management to deal Oswalt within the division.

So let me get this straight. On the day that Roy is pitching to tie the Astros' franchise record for wins, he was on the phone to an unnamed Cardinal (my money is on Vince Coleman) talking about how he wanted to join them. Interesting.
