Insanity in the Transactions

Who says transactions aren't exciting? I certainly don't. Captip to Citizen William for providing the link to this wackiness:

June 21
Catcher John Curtis, Outfielder Lee Cruz, Infielder Brandon Wikoff assigned to Round Rock from Lancaster.

Yeah, skipping Double-A. Wikoff was the Astros' 5th Round pick in the 2009 draft.

Lancaster is on their all-star break, which makes moving these guys up for a few days easier than having CC players miss a few games. My guess is sanity will resume, after all the DFA's either accept RR assignments or move on.

Cruz, 27 was at the White Sox AA Birmingham earlier this season. However, he didn't hit there at all. The way he is mashing at Lancaster, he may end up at Corpus after this all plays out, especially if Sullivan moves on and Shuck moves up. I'd look for Curtis and Wikoff to be back in California by the end of the month, if not Thursday when play resumes for the JetHawks.
