Matchup for G49 - Rockies at Astros

So Clint Hurdle lost the race with Cecil Cooper for First Manager Canned in 2009. And it's the new Fighting Tracies who come into Minute Maid Park for a three-game series. The Rockies are 20-29, 13.5GB of the Dodgers - who hold an 8.5 game lead over the 2nd place Giants.

Here's the interesting thing about the Astros. No NL team has played fewer games against sub-.500 teams than the Astros, with ten (who are 6-4). That means 38 of the Astros 48 games have been against teams with winning records. That 6-4 includes going 4-2 against the Pirates this season. Bring it, Rockies!

Oswalt

Some of Roy's stats are disconcerting. His WHIP, H/9, BB/9, HR/9, SO/BB stats are all worse than his career average. By quite a bit. And all of those are on pace for the worst of his nine season career. Like Berkman, at what point during the season is a slump a downturn?

It's now been five starts since Roy's ERA has been under 4.00. But this is hardly a record. It was September 1 of last season before Roy got his ERA under 4.00.
