G54 Recap - Pirates @ Astros

Tonight, the Astros had a chance to win the weekend series with the Bucs. All we needed was a win by the ace of our staff, Roy O (aka The Wizard, according to FS Houston).

Unfortunately, it wasn't to be as The Wizard was all out of magic to start the game, and the Bucs pounded him for all 6 of their runs in the 2nd and 3rd innings.

Roy O cruised through the first inning, needing only 9 pitches to send the Pirates down in order. Hunter Pence then gave the Astros an early 2-0 lead with his 2 run tater in the bottom half first, but it was short lived.

A fairly routine play that Roy O should have made in the 2nd would have got him out of the inning....but it wasn't to be and the Pirates made the most of their second chance.

The Astros will take a shot at their second and final chance to win the series with the Bucs tomorrow at MMP.

-Hunter Pence

2 for 4, 2 R, 2 RBI. Had a homerun and a triple. He just keeps on raking.

-This is tough tonight! Here are our candidates:

-Michael Bourn (0 for 5 from the leadoff spot)

-Lance Berkman (0 for 3 from the five hole)

-Roy Oswalt (6 ER in 6 IP)

I'm going to go with....The Wizard. Roy just hasn't looked like his usual self in the first half, for the past couple of years. Hopefully he can get things turned around soon. I do wish he would stay away from Team USA.
