It's official: Daigle signs with Round Rock and other notes

Within Tags' blog post this morning, we learn a number of things.

Such as Casey Daigle's signing with Round Rock, along with Eli Iorg and Chad Paronto's activation at The Rock.

Daigle, 28, was signed as a free agent earlier this week and assigned to the inactive list with Round Rock. The 6-foot-6 Daigle appeared in 44 games for Class AAA Rochester in 2008, going 1-5 with a 3.78 ERA. He struck out 65 against 34 walks in 69 innings of mostly relief work. Daigle reached the majors level for 10 games with Arizona in 2004 and again in 2006. Over nine professional seasons, he is 58-65 with a 4.82 ERA in the minors.

Let's hear it for Tags! Huzzah! No mention of you know who. Someone tell that guy at the American-Statesman.

Who the heck will start on Sunday in Moehler's place? Fulchino and Arias seem to be the obvious front-runners, but Tags also mentions Felipe Paulino, who has posted a 0.75 ERA, and who would be pitching on normal rest on Sunday, anyway.

Jose Valverde, Jeff Keppinger, and Kaz Matsui are all dealing with sore backs. Have you guys heard of pilates? That's why Keppinger left yesterday, and also why LaHawk came in to get the save. In other meat wagon news, Chris Johnson was placed on the DL after getting plunked on the hand last week against Iowa. Remember, it was a similar hand-plunking (among other things) that ruined Morgan Ensberg's effectiveness. So let's get some noise for mental resolve from 3Bs...
