R.I.P Dave Roberts

Former pitcher Dave Roberts passed away, Astros.com is reporting.

Roberts broke in with the Padres in 1969 and was traded after three seasons to Houston for Derrel Thomas, Bill Greif, and Mark Schaeffer after finishing sixth in the 1971 Cy Young voting (14-17 with a 2.10 ERA.) In Houston, Roberts appeared in 140 games - starting 121 of them - and posting a 47-44 record.

He was traded to Detroit with Jim Crawford and Milt May Leon Roberts, Terry Humphrey, Gene Pentz, and Mark Lemongello and won the World Series in 1979 with the Pirates after a mid-season trade.
