PreStros Morning Report: April 10

TL;DR

*Affiliates go 0-2 on the day
*Fresno: Postponed
*Corpus lost 6-4 to Springfield despite homers from Chase McDonald and Jack Mayfield.
*Lancaster: Postponed
*Quad Cities rallied twice to tie the game but fell in extra innings to Cedar Rapids.

Sunday's game was postponed due to rain.

Corpus (2-2)

Corpus had a 2-0 1st inning lead, allowed three runs to Springfield in the top of the 2nd, tied it up in the bottom half of the inning, and then gave up the next three runs to fall 6-4. Brian Holmes threw 3.2IP, 6H/5R (2ER - thanks to a Mott Hyde missed catch) - 5K:1BB; Brendan McCurry allowed 2H/1ER, 0K:1BB in 1.1IP; Cy Sneed threw the final 4IP, 2H/0ER, 5K:2BB.

The Hooks got five hits - two of them homers by Chase McDonald (2RBI) and Jack Mayfield (2H, 2RBI). Alex Bregman went 1x4, Conrad Gregor was 1x3 with a walk. Alfredo Gonzalez and Ronnie Mitchell each drew a walk.

Lancaster (0-1)

Lancaster's game @ San Jose was postponed due to rain.

Quad Cities (0-4)

Quad Cities remains winless after tying the game twice - 1-1 in the 6th - and then again at 2-2 in the bottom of the 9th after Anthony Hermelyn drove in Pat Porter. Following Hermelyn, Osvaldo Duarte and Daz Cameron got hits, but Kyle Tucker GIDPd and Dexture McCall struck out to end the 9th. Cedar Rapids got a run in the top of the 10th and the River Bandits couldn't answer to fall to 0-4.

Matt Bower threw 5.1IP, 4H/1ER, 4K:1BB; Andrew Thome allowed 3.2IP, 6H/1R (0ER), and Ralph Garza took the loss with 1IP, 1H/0ER, 1K:1BB, HBP.

Duarte went 3x5 from the leadoff spot; Anthony Hermelyn (BB, RBI) and Christian Correa (2B) had two hits each. Kyle Tucker did get a double and an RBI. Pat Porter (3B) had an outfield assist, but Antonio Nunez had two errors from third and Thome had an error off a pickoff.
