Bud Selig on Aiken "We are working towards a hopeful solution"

I have no idea what that means

If Selig allows Aiken to sign past the deadline, will that make up for everything else he has done to Houston in his tenure?

Not for me. The AL is not exactly amaze-balls. Don't get me started on that "home game" in Milwaukee.

We'll know the endgame here in a few days. I wonder how they (are going to) justify extending the signing deadline?

Good riddance, Selig.

No. To me, its like getting chocolates from a spouse who cheated on me with my best friend, in our bed, while I was buying her an anniversary gift and our kids came in, saw what was happening and she told them to start calling Uncle Brian, Dad.

No! The #2 pick next year is preferable by far to Aikin & Nix. Selig's involvement in "solving" this takes away the best possible outcome from the Astros and represents more meddling at our expense by him. Its time for him to sit down and shut up.

This would be one last time up the butt by Bud. I'd rather have next year's draft pick.

NO! FYB!!!

Even if they were to settle the Aiken situation, wouldn't they still be subject to Nix's grievance and a possible loss of a pick next year? If so, the answer is No.

My understanding from what came out last week is that signing Aiken would extend to them also being able to then sign Nix.

I'd rather have the number 2 pick next year than a high schooler whose elbow might not last through minor league ball. Whenever Bud gets involved the Astros get screwed.

That makes it a consensus.

Our friend in New Jersey has the best comment. (I'm referring to astrosfannj.)

I wonder if we'll ever have pre-draft physicals?

Yes?
