The Week That Was: April 1-6

Some notes on the Opening Week of the 2014 season...

*The Astros are 3-3 to open the season, which is the 2nd-latest in the season they've been at .500 since 2012, when they opened the season 4-4. Three AL teams have four wins, Houston is one of eight AL teams with three wins, and four AL teams have two wins.
*Scott Feldman (2-0, 0.66 ERA) is one of four MLB pitchers to have an ERA under 1.00 after two starts. 
*Houston hit five HR on Sunday. They actually had three 5+ HR games in 2013, and zero 5+ HR games from 2010-2012. 
*Three batters have started all six games: Grossman, Altuve, and Dominguez. Altuve is hitting .300/.417/.350 with one strikeout and four walks. Dominguez is 2x18 - but both hits have been homers. Grossman is 2x22 with a double, 8K:3BB. Alex Presley, Grossman, and Carter have combined for twenty strikeouts and seven hits.
*Chris Carter has eight strikeouts in 19 plate appearances to start the season.
*Houston is currently leading the AL with nine home runs, which is 24.3% of their hits. 17 of the Astros' 37 hits have been for extra-bases.

*In a combined 8IP, Dallas Keuchel and Lucas Harrell have allowed 15H/9ER, 8K:5BB.
*In a combined 8.1IP, Jerome Williams and Anthony Bass have allowed 13H/9ER, 5K:2BB.
*In 13.2IP, Scott Feldman has allowed 5H/1ER, 4K:4BB.
*Houston pitching is 11th in the AL in strikeouts. The team leader is Matt Albers, with six.
*Pitchers yet to allow a run: Jarred Cosart (5IP), Matt Albers (4.1IP), Josh Fields (2IP).
