TL;DR

*Astros affiliates go 2-1 on the day.
*Foltynewicz and Owens spin a gem as OKC beats Nashville 6-1.
*Tommy Shirley lowered his ERA to 1.16 and improves his K:BB ratio to 7:1 on the season. Corpus dominates Midland, 9-3.
*Vince Velasquez got rocked and the JetHawks' offense got shut down in a loss at Inland Empire.

Oklahoma City (13-8)

Attababy Foltynewicz! There weren't ridiculous strikeouts, but Folty gets back on the horse with 4H/1ER, 1K:2BB in 5IP, throwing 43 of his 71 pitches for strikes. Rudy Owens then went 4IP, allowing 2H/0ER, 3K:0BB for a 6-1 win over Nashville.

Domingo Santana was 3x4 with a triple and an RBI; Ronny Torreyes was 2x4 with a double and 2RBI, Jonathan Meyer added two hits and a walk. Jon Singleton (RBI) and Bob Grossman both were 0x2 with two walks.

Man of the Match: Foltynewicz and Owens

Corpus (12-8)

Corpus was up 6-0 by the time Midland got on the board and cruised to a 9-3 win. Tommy Shirley threw 6IP, 4H/0ER, 6K:1BB (ERA: 1.16; K:BB ratio: 7:1, and in his last two appearances - 10IP - he has allowed 4H/0ER, 12K:1BB). Matt Heidenreich's struggles continued with 3IP, 5H/3R (2ER), 4K:1BB, though he did throw 34 of his 44 pitches for strikes.

MP Cokinos (2B, RBI), Nolan Fontana (2B), and Jio Mier (3RBI) had two hits each; Matt Duffy hit a two-run homer; Chris Epps drew two walks (now hitting an odd .118/.385/.412); Preston Tucker was 1x4 with a walk and threw a runner out at home from right field. Leo Heras had a hit and a walk, and Tyler Heineman was 1x3 with 2RBI.

Man of the Match: Tommy Shirley

Lancaster (13-8)

Pitchers' duel early at Inland Empire, with Lancaster down 1-0 heading into the bottom of the 7th. Then it all kind of fell apart. Inland Empire wins, 6-0. Kyle Westwood allowed 4H/1ER, 4K:1BB in 5IP; Vince Velasquez had a rare plopper with 8H/5ER, 3K:1BB in 2IP, and Daniel Minor allowed 1H/0ER, 2K:1BB in the 8th.

Inland Empire pitcher Nate Smith straight dominated the JetHawks' lineup, holding them to 2H/0ER, 6K:1BB over 7IP, and the JetHawks had only five baserunners all night. Those four hits came courtesy of Tony Kemp (BB), Carlos Correa, Rio Ruiz, and Danry Vasquez.

Man of the Match: Kyle Westwood

Quad Cities (9-10)

Postponed: Rain.
