Delino DeShields got hit in the face with a baseball

In last night's game for Corpus, DeShields got hit in the face by a 90mph fastball and fractured his cheekbone. He walked off the field, because he's The Man. Want to see a picture? Courtesy of Diamond DeShields - Delino's sister and all-around incredible athlete:

And here's one more, from Delino himself:

Holy F! Seems to have taken it fine.

Pretty common happening with the Ranger pitching staff ... they like bringing it in high and tight just like their former mentor Nolan Ryan.

Gotta wonder when our staff will adopt the same approach with Ranger hitters.

Corpus Christi Hooks manager, Keith Bodie stated DeShields never saw the ball leave the pitchers hand. That seriously handicapped anything Delino could've done.
