Off.

Corpus (36-22), 3.0 up

Midland took an early 2-0 lead and the Hooks offense never really got going. Corpus falls, 3-1. Nick Tropeano took the loss despite throwing 5IP, 4H/2ER, 5K:1BB, and 52 of his 80 pitches for strikes. Bobby Doran threw the final 4IP, allowing 2H/1ER, 2K:0BB.

Lancaster (35-24), 5.0 up

As the A's are like kryptonite to the Astros so their Cal League affiliate is to the JetHawks. Stockton scored seven runs in the 3rd inning - overcoming a 4-3 deficit - and cruised to a 13-7 win over Lancaster, completing the sweep (the JetHawks swept Stockton in May, though...). Brady Rodgers got shelled - allowing 7H/8ER on 4HR, 2K:0BB, HBP. Tommy Shirley allowed 4H/3ER, 2K:0BB, 2HR; Chris Devenski allowed 2H/2ER, and another homer, but struck out six in 3IP; Cameron Lamb threw a perfect inning. So, 13 hits for Stockton, seven HRs.

Andrew Aplin, Matt Duffy (2B, HR, 2RBI), and MP Cokinos (BB) had two hits each. Delino DeShields hit a three-run HR with two outs, Nolan Fontana had a homer and a walk; Telvin Nash hit his 10th HR of the year.

Man of the Match: Matt Duffy

Quad Cities (32-25), 5.0GB

Not going to win too many games giving up 10 runs, which is exactly what Cedar Rapids did in the 4th inning, defeating Quad Cities 14-5. Jordan Jankowski allowed 9H/5ER, 3K:2BB; Mitchell Lambson allowed two of Jankowski's runs and six earned total of his own when he gave up six hits and didn't record an out; Richard Rodriguez gave up two of Lambson's in 2IP, 5H/2ER, 2K:0BB. Juan Minaya allowed 1H/1ER, 3K:3BB in 3IP. Cedar Rapids' Byron Buxton was 5x6 with a double, two triples, and an RBI.
