PreStros Morning Report: June 11

OKC RedHawks (34-28), tied

An OKC 8-5 win over Iowa combined with a Round Rock loss puts the two teams tied for the PCL American Southern division. Asher Wojciechowski threw 5.2IP, 4H/2ER, 7K:3BB while a bullpen of Kevin Chapman (1H/2R - 0ER - 1K:2BB in 0.2IP), Alex Sogard (1K:1BB), Rhiner Cruz (1HR), and Jose Valdez (1IP, 3K) held the Cubs to 2H/3ER (1ER), 6K:3BB in 3.1IP.

Brett Wallace was 3x4 with a two-run homer - his 9th; Cody Clark was 2x4; Robbie Grossman, Che-Hsuan Lin, and Jonathan Villar had two walks each.

Corpus (39-25), 2.0 up

Corpus scored the final six runs of the game for a 6-2 win over San Antonio. Mike Foltynewicz improved to 2-0 with 5IP, 3H/2ER, 5K:3BB (ERA now 1.41) while David Martinez got your traditional 12-out save, allowing 2H/0ER, 4K:0BB in 4IP. Of Foltynewicz's 15 outs, he struck out five, got seven groundballs, and three line drives.

Enrique Hernandez was 3x4 with a double, triple, and solo homer; Jon Singleton was 2x4 with a triple, walk, and 2RBI; and Jio Mier was 2x4 with a stolen base. Domingo Santana hit his 12th homer of the season. George Springer was 1x5 with a double and four strikeouts.

Lancaster (36-29) 2.5 up

And the 3-1 win over High Desert snaps the eight-game JetHawks losing streak. Luis Cruz threw 5IP, allowing 5H/0ER, 5K:2BB; Kyle Hallock got the win with 3.1IP of relief, allowing 2H/1ER, 1K:0BB and Travis Ballew got his 10th save by getting a one-batter/two-out game-ending GIDP.

Preston Tucker was 4x4 with two doubles and an RBI; MP Cokinos had a 2-run double; Joe Sclafani was 2x4 with two doubles. Tyler Heineman and Brandon Meredith drew your walks.

Quad Cities (35-28), 4.0 GB

Quad Cities overcame a 4-run 3rd inning from division-leading Cedar Rapids to win 8-4 at Modern Woodmen Park. Lance McCullers had an odd off-start, allowing 5H/4ER, 6K:2BB in 4IP; Danie Minor got the win with 3IP, 3H/0ER, 4K:1BB and John Neely recorded his 10th save of the season with 1.2IP, 0H/0ER, 0K:0BB.

Jesse Wierzbicki was 3x5 with a three-run HR and 4RBI total; Carlos Correa was 2x2 with three walks; Rio Ruiz was 1x4 with an RBI (and 3K); Teoscar Hernandez and Austin Elkins drew two walks each, while Jobduan Morales had a two-run single.
