With the 1st pick of the 17th Round (497th overall), the Astros select 6'6" 180lb Alex Schick, a RHP from Cathedral Catholic High School in California.
This season, he went 40.1IP with 38K, a .212 BAA and a 1.04 ERA. He has "an outstanding slider to go along with a fastball in the high 80s-low 90s." He's a commit to California, and Cal pitching coach Mike Neu said this:
"Alex Schick was a late bloomer in this signing class and has been a little bit overshadowed because he comes from a premier high school program with possibly the best pitching staff in the country. Alex has developed into one of the best pitchers in California and will have a chance to make an impact in our program right away. We really like his ability to command his fastball and his breaking ball is a plus pitch."
There's a scouting video for Schick over here.
