PreStros Morning Report May 6th

AAA

Oklahoma City (18-12)

The Redhawks dropped the rubber game 6-1 to the Iowa Cubs (11-17) on Monday. The one Oklahoma City run came in the top of the 4th. Jonathan Villar (2H, R, 2SB) singled on a bunt, stole 2nd, and also 3rd. Andrew Simunic (H, RBI, SB) singled to score Villar, and the lone Redhawk run of the day. Trevor Crowe had 2 hits on the eve of his promotion to Houston. Bret Wallace had a single and 2k's. Carlos Perez went 2 for 4 with a K and is hitting .462 so far for the Redhawks.

Ross Seaton (0-2) started for the Redhawks and got tagged with his 2nd loss of the year. (5IP, 8H, 4ER, BB, 6K, HR)

Corpus Christi (19-12)

The Hooks shut out the San Antonio Missions by a score of 3-0 on Friday. The offense was almost an after thought in this game as no runs were scored until the 8th inning in a 3 run frame from Corpus. Ben Orloff singled on a bun with two outs and was the first base runner of the inning. George Springer followed with his 11th home run of the year, a 2 run shot to left field. Domingo Santana followed with his 4th long ball of the year, a solo shot to right.

Hello double A! Mike Foltynewicz was the story of the game on Monday. (5IP, 0ER, 1BB, 9K). Folty threw 7 pitches, 53 for strikes.

Lancaster (18-12)

The Jethawks pulled out a one run victory in a late inning come back against the High Desert Mavericks (16-15). Lancaster started the scoring with one run in the top of the first. MP Cokinos (2H, R, BB) singled on a line drive to right with one out in the inning. Andrew Aplin (H, R, BB, K) followed with a walk, advancing Cokinos to 2nd. Preston Tucker (2H, R, RBI) singled to right to score Cokinos. Andrew Aplin was thrown out at home trying to score on the play. After 5 the Jethawks found themselves down 5-1, however they started there comeback in the 6th. Andrew Aplin singled to lead off the inning. Matt Duffy followed with his 2nd triple of the year, scoring Aplin. Telvin Nash (H, RBI, K) grounded out with one out in the inning, but scored Matt Duffy on the play. They continued scoring in the 7th. Nolan Fontana (H, R, 2BB, 2K SB) singled with one out in the inning. MP Cokinos singled on a ground ball to center, advancing Fontana to 2nd. Fontana would score on a single off the bat of Matt Duffy (2H, R, 3B, 2RBI, K) to put the game at 5-4 Mavericks after 7. Brandon Meredith (K, HBP) was hit by a pitch with 2 outs in the inning leave the game. Raoul Tonez (H, 2R) pinch ran for Meredeith and Chris Epps (2H, 3B, RBI) pinch hit for Carlos Perdono (H, SB). Epps tripled to center scoring Torrez,tying the game. In the top of the 9th Preston Tucker struck singled with an out in the inning. Tucker advanced to 2nd on a wild pitch and would score on a double off the bat of Tyler Heineman (2H, R, 2B, RBI). Raoul Torrez singled to center, scoring Heineman. Chris epps hit a liner to center and there were runners on the corners for Nolan Fontana. Fontana reached on a throwing error from shortstop Chris Taylor and Raoul Torres scored on the play. That would end
Lancaster's scoring run and it would be enough for the victory.

Quad Cities (18-11)

The River Bandtis put up 8 runs against West Michigan on Monday, winning 8-3. Quad Cities scored first, with a 2 run frame in the top of the 2nd. Jesse Wierzbicki (2H, 2R, 2 2B) doubled to left to lead off the inning. Ryan Dineen (2H, 2R, 2BB, K, SB) followed with a bunt single. Somehow Wierzbicki scored on the play. Dineen advanced to 2nd on a throwing error. Ariel Ovando (RBI, 2BB, SB) walked and advanced to 2nd on a double steal. Jordan Scott )2H, 3B,3RBI, BB) singled, scoring Ryan Dineen. In the 6th Austin Elkins (H, R, 2B, BB, K) led the inning off with a double. Elkins advanced to 2nd on a sac fly and scored on another sac fly off the bat of Ryan Dineen. In the top of the 8th the River Bandits broke out for 5 runs. Joe Sclafani walked to lead off the inning and advanced to 2nd after a one out walk by Austin Elkins. Jesse WWierzbicki reached on a fielders choice.. Ryan Dineen singled on a bunt to score Joe Sclafani (R, 2BB, K) and advance Wierzbicki to 2nd. Wierzbici scored on a single off the bat Roberto Pena (2H, R, RBI, K) that advanced Ryan Dineen to 2nd. A wild pitched allowed Dineen and and Pena to advance. Ovando grounded out but scored Dineen. Brian Blasik (R, BB, 2K) walked to put runners on the corners for Jordan Scott. Scott tripled on a line drive to center scoring Pena and Blasik to cap of the scoring for Quad Cities.
