OKC outfielder Justin Ruggiano has been traded to the Miami Marlins for minor league catcher Jobduan Morales, reports Alyson Footer via twitter.
Ruggiano was hitting, signed to a minor league deal by the Astros this past off season, was hitting .325/.409/.581 with five homeruns.
Morales was the 2009 ninth round draft pick for Miami. He's yet to appear this season, but last year as a twenty year old he hit .275/.386/.444 with four home runs in 55 games, 52 of which were at the Low-A level. He caught just 15 % of would be base stealers, and the Marlins had him play about half of his time at first base.

I think this is another brilliant move by Lunhow to acquire depth. A switch hitting catcher drafted by a great team who has great prospects and great scouting. Also he is young and cheap for a longer time. Give this kid a couple of years and it just keeps adding to the depth. Plus he's only 20. This is a brilliant move. If Lunhow can keep this up, we will transition faster into a winning ballclub and will have more of a depth pool to pick from. I look forward to the day we have a really young team full of superstars and great ball players. I'm willing to wait 3 more years if they keep doing moves like this.
