PreStros Farm Report: April 11

PreStros: April 11

Oklahoma City (5-2)

After heading into the ninth inning leading 6-5, OKC lost a back and forth game 7-6 on a 10th inning walkoff HR from Nashville (MIL) Wednesday night.

Aneury Rodriguez was cruising with a shutout until he had two outs in the fourth inning. 4.2 innings was all he would last, giving up 3 R (2 earned) on 8 H and 3 BB with 7 K. Enerio Del Rosario gave up 2 R on 2 H in just .1 IP. Juan Abreu blew the save in the 9th and took the loss in the 10th as he gave up 4 H and 2 R, including the walkoff HR.

CF-JB Shuck was 2x5 with 1 3B and 1 R. SS-Jed Lowrie went 2x3 with 1 BB, 1 R, and 1 RBI. LF-Fernando Martinez was 2x5 with 2 R. 3B-Scott Moore was 4x5 with 2 2B, 1 R, and 2 RBI.

Man of the Match: Scott Moore

Corpus Christi (3-3)

OFF

Off Day Spotlight:

Jose Cisnero
Born:               April 11, 1989
Bats/Throws:   R/R
Height/Weight: 6’3”/185lbs
Acquired:        Signed by Houston Astros as non-drafted free agent, 2007
Position:          SP

Cisnero had been nothing short of impressive before last season. In each of his first three seasons as a professioinal, he had posted ERAs under 4.00 and was mowing down opposing batters. Jose seemed well positioned to survive a stint in the thin air at Lancaster, as he historically has shown a high strikeout and groundball rate. While the strikeouts were still there, his groundball rate took a turn for the worst and his already borderline control deteriorated as well. If he’s able to get his walks back under control then 2011 will simply be a speed bump on his way up the chain.

Lancaster (1-6)

Losing close games late has been an unfortunate theme for all of Houston’s minor league teams so far this season, and last night’s JetHawks game was no exception as they lost 6-5 on a bases-loaded walkoff walk.

Ruben Alaniz pitched okay, going 6 innings while allowing 4 R (3 earned) on 5 H with 1 BB, 1 HBP, and 5 K. Jorge De Leon gave up the “shrimp” as he got just 1 out in the 9th while giving up 1 H and 3 BB.

1B-Telvin Nash was 1x4 with 2 RBI and 3 K. LF-Dan Adamson was 1x4 with a solo HR and 3 K.

Man of the Match: Telvin Nash

Lexington (2-5)

Mike Foltynewicz decided to end Lexington’s three game losing streak almost single handedly as he led the way to the Legends 3-0 victory.

Folty threw 6 dominating shutout innings, giving up just 3 H and 2 BB with 8 K. Murilo Gouvea threw 2 scoreless innings and Dayan Diaz allowed just a walk for his 1 inning save.

LF-Jordan Scott was 1x3 with 2 R, 1 SB, and 1 BB. DH-Zach Johnson was 2x4 with 1 2B and 2 RBI. CF-Drew Muren was 0x2 with 2 BB and 1 SB.
