I don't think this is the worst idea in the world. If a catcher goes down, he's presumably the next man up, and provides a platoon split with Wallace at first (but I thought Wallace hit lefties pretty well). All of me is hoping Wallace will win the job outright, but more versatility for Towles is ok I think. We sure do have a lot of guys who could "play" first--Wallace, Lee, Bogusevic, and now Towles. Will be interesting to see how they do this.
