Jack Shuck: Doin' work

Nice article in Jack Shuck's hometown newspaper on the job he's doing in Corpus this year.

Corpus manager Wes Clements:
"And the Texas League is a pitcher's league this year. That makes what 'Shucker' is doing even more special. He's just a throwback kid. He's a dirt-bag player and I mean that in a positive way. He plays hard and he pays attention to detail. If you are an opposing pitcher, he is a pain in the butt...

..."He led the California League in hits last year. I think he can do what he is doing here at any level. I expect to see him in Houston some day. He's just a good baseball player."

What about his one homerun, despite his corner outfield position?
"I don't think about it. I'm going to play anywhere the organization needs me to play. I've found a home in left field."
