Eddie's Farm: April 23

Round Rock

Josh Banks had his first bad game of the season and the Express only got four hits in a 6-3 loss to Omaha. Banks threw 5.1IP, 8H/6ER, 2K:3BB, while a bullpen of Jonah Bayliss, Sam Gervacio, and Evan Englebrook threw 3.2IP of relief, allowing 1H/0ER, 3K:1BB. Jason Bourgeois and Chris Shelton each hit solo homers.

Man of the Match: Evan Englebrook - 2IP of perfect relief.

Corpus Christi

Corpus never led in this game, losing to Frisco 5-1 despite two Frisco errors. Fernando Abad threw 6IP, 8H/4R (3ER), 7K:1BB, and Tyler Lumsden finished it out with 2IP, 3H/1ER, 2K:0BB. The Hooks were 3x20 w/RISP - and left nine in scoring position with two outs. David Cook was 2x5, while Jhon Florentino and Brian Esposito also had two-hit games. Shuck had the only RBI with a 1x3, 2BB day.

Lancaster

The JetHawks scored in each of the first five innings on their way to a 7-3 win over Rancho Cucamonga, for their fourth win in their last five games. Shane Wolf threw 5.2IP, 10H/3ER, 6K:0BB; Brian Wabick went 2.1IP, 2H/0ER, and Edwin Walker threw 1IP, 1H/0ER. Every JetHawk got a hit, and Albert Cartwright, Mark Ori, David Flores, and Josh Flores had multi-hit games. Brandon Barnes hit a two-run homer.

Man of the Match: David Flores - 2x5, RBI, SB, and an outfield assist.

Lexington

Tanner Bushue gave up a first-inning run to Asheville, but the Legends then took over for a 5-1 win. Bushue threw 6IP, 4H/1ER, 5K:1BB, and Zach Grimmett threw the final 3IP, allowing 1H/0ER, 5K:1BB. Yep, that's 10K:2BB. The Legends benefited from the wildness of Jonathan Vargas, who allowed four hits, seven walks, and four wild pitches in 4.1IP. Kody Hinze was 3x3 with a walk, double, a home run, and four RBI. Andy Simunic had the other multi-hit game, while Grant Hogue and J.D. Martinez added doubles. Hinze's four RBI give him 18 on the year, tying him for the South Atlantic League lead.
