Eddie's Farm: April 20

Round Rock

Pitchers duel in Round Rock! It took a 10th inning sac fly from Matt Kata to score Drew Locke - who led off the 10th with a single - to give the Express the 1-0 win over Omaha. Andy Van Hekken was great, throwing 7IP, 3H/0ER, 8K:1BB (1.53 ERA), and the bullpen of Bazardo, Daigle, and Majewski threw 3IP, 3H/0ER, 2K:1BB relief. Chris Shelton was 3x3 with a walk, and is now hitting .364 on the year. Bogusevic and Garciaparra had the only two extra base hits - both doubles.

Man of the Match: Andy Van Hekken

Corpus Christi

Hey, Honorary Citizen and Hooks' beat writer Greg Rajan has a new blog called the "Hooks Insider." Lots of good stuff in there, and we'll hopefully be chatting with Greg throughout the season.

Corpus got a run in the sixth and held on for a 2-1 win over NW Arkansas, despite leaving ten on base. Doug Arguello ran up a pitch count of 91 in 5IP, thanks to five hits, four walks, and a balk, with one earned run. Jared Wells threw 3.1IP, 1H/0ER, 1K:2BB in relief, and Henry Villar got his first save of the season. German Duran was 2x4, David Cook was 0x2 with 2BB, Jimmy Van Ostrand was 2x3 with a BB, and Koby Clemens was 1x3 with an RBI and a BB.

Man of the Match: Jared Wells

Lancaster

Game against High Desert postponed.

Lexington

Lexington jumped on Asheville early and then rode it out for a 5-1 win. Robby Donovan threw 6IP, 4H/1ER, 1K:1BB, and Arcenio Leon gave up two hits, no runs, in 3IP of relief. J.D. Martinez was 3x4 with a double, two runs, and 2RBI. Jonathan Meyer was 2x4, and Kody Hinze hit a two-run homer. Our boy Aaron Bray cleared his head after a couple of days off, and responded with a 1x2, 2BB day at the plate.
