New article from
MLB.com detailing home-grown talent on Major League rosters. Where do the Astros rank? Oh, I think you know. Not only dead last in the National League with 16%, but dead last in all of baseball. And not by a little, either. Next closest are the Royals and Nationals, with 20% of their roster coming up from the minors.

Just to point out... the difference between 16% and 20% on a 25 man roster is only one player.
And just thinking out loud here... Pence, Roy, Wandy, and Berkman were all "home-grown". What about Maysonet and Sampson? That would jump us to 24%. And then, despite his hiatus from the club, couldn't we count Hampton as "home-grown"?
Those are valid points. I'll go back and read the parameters of what constitutes "homegrown."
